The homeowners, who had previously updated the house in 2005, desired a lighter, brighter, and more livable space that reflected their personalities and was more conducive to entertaining. The existing interiors were characterized by a dated burgundy-and-gold color scheme, worn furnishings, and golden oak floors, cabinetry, and ceiling beams. Maureen Haggerty of Mint Interior Design led the transformation, starting with the removal of the old color palette. The kitchen, which previously featured gold-tiled backsplash, received an update with an ivory tile backsplash and an island painted in Benjamin Moore Monroe Bisque, a warm, creamy shade. The design strategy focused on establishing purposeful layers and incorporating both warm and cool elements to enhance architectural details and the clients' extensive collections.
