Tuning Into Frequency: Aimée Wilder’s New Retro Tile Collection

Aimée Wilder, a multidisciplinary artist and designer, has launched her latest tile collection, "Frequency," which draws inspiration from her "Shadow Wilding" series of large-format silk screen artworks. The collection comprises four distinct tile designs, each contributing pattern and color to contemporary interior spaces. Wilder's creative process for "Frequency" was influenced by various theoretical and mathematical concepts, including tessellation, the interplay of positive and negative space, fractal dragon curves, and complex color relationships. She describes the adaptation of her art series into a tile format as a rewarding artistic endeavor, emphasizing the practicality of the tile patterns for large-area applications and the expansion of the color palette to suit both commercial and residential projects. The "Frequency" collection features four primary patterns: Doozie, Snake, Ying, and Zen. The Doozie pattern is a two-toned design that offers versatility in arrangement, allowing for the creation of multiple layouts such as Ticket, Ziggy, and Wavelength. Ticket evokes the appearance of a ticket stub, Ziggy offers a modern interpretation of a zigzag motif, and Wavelength is inspired by mathematical measurements. Doozie is available in five distinct tile colors: Fern, Wave, Deep, Nimbus, and Powder. Next, the Snake pattern is characterized by its winding and dynamic aesthetic, suggesting continuous movement. This design utilizes four different square modules, engineered to connect seamlessly, which facilitates straightforward and imaginative installation. The Snake pattern is offered in three color variations: Azure Brick, Cobalt Swan, and Mango Swan. The Ying pattern, named after a component of the yin-yang symbol, blends elements of zen and a groovy retro sensibility. Its design incorporates positive and negative curves along with dots, subtly referencing the ancient symbol. Notably, Ying is the only rectangular tile in the collection, measuring 16 inches by 8 inches. It is available in three colorways: Tan Camel, Nimbus Night, and Verde Honeydew. Finally, the Zen pattern employs negative space to create visual interest, producing the illusion of an undulating weave. This pattern is available in three colors: Spruce Gypsum, Brick Lotus, and Fir Moss. The entire "Frequency" collection aims to provide designers and homeowners with a range of innovative options for interior decoration, combining artistic vision with practical application to enhance modern environments with unique patterns and a sophisticated color palette. #TileCollection #AiméeWilder #RetroDesign #InteriorDesign #PatternDesign #HomeDecor #CommercialDesign #ArchitecturalTiles #TileCollection #AiméeWilder #RetroDesign #InteriorDesign #PatternDesign #HomeDecor #CommercialDesign #ArchitecturalTiles
