The dining nook, created by utilizing space from the wraparound deck, was expanded to comfortably seat 12 people, accommodating large family gatherings. The kitchen, a collaborative effort with Tanya Smith-Shiflett of Unique Kitchens & Baths, features two-tone cabinetry reminiscent of Julia Child's style, blending open shelving with concealed storage. Unlacquered brass hardware and fittings were selected to develop a natural patina over time. A notable design choice was the use of painted blue wood floors throughout much of the 2,030-square-foot space, a historical coastal tradition that accommodates sand and water well and is easy to maintain. V-groove paneling is extensively used, extending into the primary bath and powder room, further contributing to the home's aged aesthetic. To enhance the casual, beach-house feel, traditional closets in the four bedrooms were replaced with clever storage solutions and case goods, reflecting the owners' minimal need for formal clothing storage. The living room layout is specifically designed to maximize ocean views.
