Heath Ceramics Get Spotty with New 'Cool Lava' Glaze

Heath Ceramics, a company deeply rooted in modern design and a favorite of Dwell, has introduced a new color palette for its vase collection. The original bud vase was designed by co-founder Edith Heath in the 1950s, and the company later expanded its vase range with three additional silhouettes in 2008. As of March 1, the four vase shapes are now available in a new array of colors, which are part of the permanent collection rather than limited editions. The new glazes include a cheerful, midcentury-modern yellow-green called Lemongrass, an inky blue referred to as Indigo, and a vibrant Tangerine. However, the standout addition to the collection is the 'Cool Lava' glaze. This distinctive finish is textured and spotty, resulting from experimentation by LA-based partner Adam Silverman and the Heath design team. Silverman has been actively involved in developing this unique glaze, which adds a new dimension to Heath Ceramics' aesthetic offerings. These newly glazed vases come in a range of prices, starting from $23 for the classic three-inch bud vase and going up to $91 for the nine-inch-tall Multi-Stem Vase. Despite their artistic appearance, all Heath pottery is designed for practicality and durability. The pieces are microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe, ensuring ease of maintenance and long-lasting use, although the oven safety feature is more relevant for other Heath products than for vases. This introduction of new glazes, particularly the innovative Cool Lava, reflects Heath Ceramics' ongoing commitment to blending timeless design with contemporary experimentation. The permanent nature of these new colors ensures that customers can readily access these additions to the collection. The collaboration with Adam Silverman further highlights the brand's dedication to working with talented designers to evolve its product line while maintaining its foundational design principles. #HeathCeramics #NewGlaze #VaseCollection #ModernDesign #AdamSilverman #CeramicArt #HomeDecor #ProductLaunch #DesignInnovation #HeathCeramics #NewGlaze #VaseCollection #ModernDesign #AdamSilverman #CeramicArt #HomeDecor #ProductLaunch #DesignInnovation
