Jeffersontown home goes from drab to fab | Home of the Week
The Vibbert family, Margaret and Tim, along with their children Jack and Sarah, reside in a Jeffersontown home that serves as both a family residence and a gathering space for extended family and friends. While the open-concept design of the home was initially appealing for their family of four, the interiors required an update to enhance functionality and comfort. To achieve this transformation, they enlisted the expertise of Set the Stage interior design.
The great room is highlighted as a favorite spot for Margaret, offering a bright and airy atmosphere. This space features dramatic high ceilings illuminated by a stylish chandelier. The furnishings include a plush sofa accented with colorful pillows and paired with accent chairs upholstered in a printed fabric. A tufted ottoman serves as a central focal point. Custom drapes adorn the windows, providing views of the surrounding landscape. A flat-screen television is mounted above the mantel, which is flanked by side tables displaying collectibles. A sofa table holds photographs and a fashionable lamp, contributing to the room's aesthetic.
The kitchen, although satisfactory in size, underwent cosmetic enhancements to transition it from its previous state to a more functional and appealing space. A breakfast bar equipped with linen stools offers a convenient area for the children to complete homework while Margaret prepares meals. Faux Roman shades are installed on the windows and the door leading to the outdoor living area. The dining table is surrounded by accent chairs and illuminated by a modern drum chandelier. Tea-stained floating cabinetry complements the granite countertops, while a stylish backsplash adds a whimsical touch. Pendant lights introduce a contemporary feel, and decorative art adorns the walls.
The master bedroom is designed as a serene retreat. A key feature is the exposed brick accent wall, which provides a backdrop for the bed. The bed itself is enhanced by a linen headboard with nailhead trim and dressed with plush linens. Side tables on either side of the bed host elegant lamps. Custom panels frame the windows, and a settee is placed at the foot of the bed. Columns define the boundary between the sleeping area and a cozy sitting area. This sitting area includes an accent chair with nailhead trim and a sofa, inviting relaxation.
Key elements of the home's design include an exposed brick accent wall in both the master bedroom and the lower level, tall ceilings in the great room and lower level, a dedicated theater room, and an outdoor space complete with a fireplace. The home also features custom window treatments, stylish lighting, and contemporary furnishings, an open floor plan, and a Juliet balcony. The Vibberts acknowledged the contributions of several professionals, including interior designers Karista Hannah, Bailey Pitts, and Kaelin Brutscher from Set the Stage; Vanessa Yates of Draped in Style; Dave Weiss of Weiss Construction; Marsha O’Dea of Century Entertainment & Furnishings; Brecher’s Lighting; John Deaver of Deaver Restoration; and handyman Eric Gentry, all of whom played a role in the home's transformation.
