Crease: A Range of Modular Acoustic Ceiling Tiles by Turf Design and MNML
The increasing prevalence of open-plan office layouts and the conversion of non-traditional buildings into workspaces have highlighted a growing need for effective acoustic solutions. Traditional office environments often struggle with excessive noise, impacting productivity and comfort. Addressing this challenge, Turf Design and MNML have collaborated to create Crease, a new line of modular acoustic ceiling tiles. These tiles are specifically engineered to mitigate noise issues and manage sound levels and frequencies across different areas within an office setting.
A key innovation of the Crease range lies in its unique installation mechanism. The tiles are designed with magnetic attachments that allow them to easily snap onto a grid system. This grid can be directly affixed beneath existing ceiling tiles, providing a flexible and adaptable solution for various architectural configurations. This design choice simplifies the installation process and offers versatility in integrating the acoustic solution into diverse interior designs without extensive renovation.
Beyond their functional attributes, the Crease tiles contribute to the aesthetic appeal of a space. They introduce dimension and texture to ceilings, transforming what is often a flat and overlooked surface into an element of design. The three-dimensional quality of the tiles adds visual interest, moving beyond purely utilitarian acoustic panels to become an integral part of the interior's visual language. This ensures that the acoustic solution not only performs its primary function but also enhances the overall design scheme.
Sustainability is a core component of the Crease product. The tiles are manufactured from recycled polyester plastic, with a significant portion of the material derived from repurposed water bottles. This commitment to using recycled content underscores an environmentally conscious approach to design and manufacturing. By utilizing post-consumer materials, the product helps reduce waste and minimize its environmental footprint, aligning with contemporary demands for sustainable building materials and practices.
The Crease range offers a dual benefit: superior acoustic performance and enhanced visual aesthetics, all while adhering to environmentally responsible manufacturing principles. The modular nature of the tiles allows for customizable configurations, enabling designers to create patterns and layouts that complement specific interior themes and acoustic requirements. This adaptability makes Crease suitable for a wide array of commercial and office spaces, from bustling open offices to more private meeting rooms, ensuring a more comfortable and productive auditory environment for occupants. The integration of recycled materials further positions Crease as a forward-thinking solution in modern interior design.
