The workshop commenced with a detailed presentation outlining the project, which was based on an authentic design criteria package developed by the Kimley-Horn team in 2022. This initial phase established the project's scope, expectations, and deadlines for the student participants. This was a unique learning opportunity for the students, as their academic training predominantly involved digital design tools.
