moormann's minimalist motorhome combines comfort, functionality and fine aesthetics
Nils Holger Moormann has introduced the 'Streifenwagen,' a minimalist motorhome designed to offer a cozy yet elegant atmosphere for travel in both summer and winter conditions. The camper is built on a VW T6.1 chassis and features an interior characterized by a harmonious blend of high-tech surfaces, ash wood, and thoughtful lighting concepts. The design emphasizes a smooth color palette to create a cohesive and inviting space.
The 'Streifenwagen' incorporates several technical innovations aimed at ensuring a comfortable and fresh indoor environment. Indirectly illuminated storage compartments are integrated into the sidewalls, adding depth to the space while maintaining a clean aesthetic. A hidden USB port provides convenient charging for electronic devices, easily accessible from the bench seat and bed areas. Additionally, a dimmable battery reading light is designed to be removable from its wall niche, allowing it to function as an outdoor light when needed, enhancing versatility.
Central to the motorhome's design is a comfortable fold-out bench, featuring an iconic striped fabric by Belgian fashion designer Raf Simons, developed for Kvadrat. This fabric, made from soft wool yarn, serves as the heart and namesake of the 'Streifenwagen'. Its various textures and high-quality properties contribute to the vehicle's refined appearance and provide practical benefits. The wool fabric naturally regulates temperature and moisture, keeping the interior warm in winter and fresh in summer. Furthermore, the inherently antibacterial nature of wool makes it self-cleaning, allowing for easy removal of light soiling after drying.
The kitchen area is designed for efficiency, providing ample space for storage and workspace. A flush-mounted ceramic hob is seamlessly integrated into a matted stainless steel worktop, alongside a recessed sink. The silvertouch surface of the worktop, matted by hand, offers a subtle tactile experience. A wide, frameless kitchen window ensures an abundance of natural light and promotes excellent ventilation throughout the interior.
The motorhome is specified with seating for 4 (with a maximum capacity for 6) and features a primary bed base measuring 190x125cm, extendable to a maximum of 230x125cm. An upper bed is also available, measuring 195x110cm, with a maximum extension to 235x110cm. The boot capacity is 1450 liters, expandable to 2100 liters, and includes a load-through tunnel measuring 250x82x47cm, with a maximum length of 290cm. It is equipped with 2x12 liters of fresh water capacity, an option for hot water, up to 270 Ah battery capacity, and up to a 200 W solar system, making it suitable for extended journeys.
