Designers Declare This Color the Ultimate "Chill-Pill" for Your Home

The article highlights the growing popularity of dark green paint colors in interior design, suggesting them as an elegant alternative to neutral walls. Interior designers are increasingly incorporating these hues to create personality-filled and immersive spaces. There is a wide array of dark green shades available, from warm martini olive tones to cooler teal options. These versatile colors are suitable for various rooms, including living rooms, powder rooms, bedrooms, and even laundry rooms, demonstrating their ability to make a significant visual impact regardless of space size. Eighteen specific dark green paint colors are presented, each illustrated with examples from designer spaces. Farrow & Ball's Inchyra Blue, for instance, is noted for its chameleon-like quality, appearing as a deep forest green or a green-tinged teal depending on the light, and is shown complementing warm wood and leather accents in a Cape Cod living room. Monkey Puzzle, also by Farrow & Ball, was used in a laundry room in House Beautiful's 2024 Whole Home, paired with black accents and a warm brown ceiling to create a moody atmosphere. Fine Paints of Europe's S6030-G, a rich emerald, features in a Palmer Weiss kitchen, made casual by a white paneled ceiling and glamorized with brass accents. Benjamin Moore's Great Barrington Green, a cool-toned shade, was chosen by designer Nate Berkus for a powder room to soften gilded hardware and a geometric stone sink. Additional featured colors include Farrow & Ball's Ash Grey, used by Anne McDonald in a cozy 'snug' to complement mountain views; Benjamin Moore's Mediterranean Teal, a blue-green shade perfect for those torn between the two colors, as seen in an Atlanta home by A. Wooten Interiors; and Farrow & Ball's Bancha, a cool-toned dark green that provides a soothing vibe in a formal sitting room. Benjamin Moore's Amazon Green, a high-gloss, saturated shade, is used by Miggy Mason and Roisin Giese in an open-plan kitchen bar area. Clare Paint's Daily Greens, a deep olive, gives a Boston Colonial Revival office a London social club feel. Benjamin Moore's Black Forest Green, a black-infused dark green, creates a distinctive bathroom aesthetic by M. Lavender Interiors. Farrow & Ball's Traron, a calming gray-green, is used in a shiplap-covered bedroom in Heidi Caillier's Anderson Island cabin. Sherwin Williams's Country Squire, a deep emerald, transforms a mudroom in Juan Carretero's New York home. Backdrop Home's Lawn Party, a matte moss-green, is recommended for spa-like spaces. Sherwin Williams's Ripe Olive offers a borderline black, moody green for a breakfast nook by Nicole Hollis. Benjamin Moore's Seaweed, a rich green, is showcased in a Los Angeles home bar. Benjamin Moore's Caribbean Teal, a dark teal, creates a moody yet calming ambiance in a living room by Garrow Kedigan. Farrow & Ball's Calke Green, a basil green, revitalizes a library by Melanie Turner. Lastly, Backdrop Home's Kismet, a deep hunter green, provides an edgy neutral for a kitchen island by Lynn K. Leonidas. The article emphasizes that dark green shades, by evoking nature, offer an elegant and versatile choice for adding depth and personality to any interior space. #InteriorDesign #PaintColors #DarkGreen #HomeDecor #DesignInspiration #HomeRenovation #ColorTrends #InteriorStyling #InteriorDesign #PaintColors #DarkGreen #HomeDecor #DesignInspiration #HomeRenovation #ColorTrends #InteriorStyling
