House Milk Master Bedroom Design with Homepolish

The author, Jaime Derringer, details her experience redesigning her master bedroom with the help of Homepolish, a design service. She explains that, unlike previous homes where she prioritized public spaces, she was determined to create a "grownup" master bedroom in her new residence. The design process began with a consultation with Orlando Soria, an LA-based Homepolish designer, who had previously worked with Emily Henderson. The collaboration involved phone discussions, a visit to the author's home for measurements and idea exchange, and the creation of a Pinterest board for inspiration. The Homepolish service model is highlighted, which includes a small consulting fee and an hourly rate, along with access to discounts from partner brands. The initial inspiration board presented by Orlando Soria featured various design elements. However, many of the suggested products were deemed impractical for a home with a toddler, such as a mirrored dresser and pendant bedside lamps. This led to a revision of the product selection, focusing on items that aligned with the author's practical needs and aesthetic preferences. Key design decisions included selecting a specific bed that became the room's centerpiece, opting for wall sconces from FLOS, and a rug from West Elm. The author also desired a sofa at the foot of the bed due to the room's deep layout, choosing a cotton candy pink sofa from CB2 for its size and aesthetic appeal. As products were chosen, the mood board was continuously updated to reflect the actual items being incorporated into the design, helping the author visualize the evolving space. The redesign also involved sourcing artwork, with the author utilizing Saatchi Art's advisory service to select a large piece by UK artist Aimie Herbert called “Something Else.” To complement this artwork, a large white dresser from AllModern was chosen. Custom window treatments were acquired from Barn & Willow, and luxurious white bedding from Parachute completed the textile elements. The final mood board integrated most of these chosen products, with the wall mural being the only element still in progress. The author acknowledges the challenges inherent in a full room redesign, such as damaged products, sizing issues, discontinued items, budget constraints, and delays. Despite these obstacles, the process was described as manageable with proper planning, patience, and the supportive guidance of the designer, Orlando Soria. The article concludes with an anticipation of the final reveal and a source list for the products used, encouraging readers to explore Homepolish for their own design needs. #InteriorDesign #MasterBedroom #Homepolish #HomeDecor #DesignProcess #Furniture #Artwork #Textiles #InteriorDesign #MasterBedroom #Homepolish #HomeDecor #DesignProcess #Furniture #Artwork #Textiles
