Tile company installs confusing optical illusion floor

A tile company named Casa Ceramica, located in Manchester, has installed a unique optical illusion floor in their showroom entrance, which was implemented twelve months prior to this report. The design creates the visual effect of a wavy or sinking floor, despite being entirely flat and stable underfoot. This installation was conceived to demonstrate the diverse applications of tiles and to incorporate an optical illusion theme, which the company successfully achieved. The floor is constructed from porcelain tiles that were custom-cut by Aquacut into over 400 individual pieces. Duncan Cook, the director of Casa Ceramica, meticulously tiled these pieces according to a specific design layout to produce the intended visual effect. The result is a floor that challenges perceptions of stability, making individuals feel as though they might walk unsteadily, even when they are on a perfectly level surface. The unique flooring serves as a distinctive feature for the showroom, aiming to capture the attention of visitors and showcase the company's innovative use of tiling. Beyond the optical illusion floor, the showroom also features walls adorned with quotes, which were created by a local artist named Myro, adding another artistic element to the space. #OpticalIllusion #TileDesign #InteriorDesign #ShowroomDisplay #Manchester #CasaCeramica #FloorArt #ArchitecturalInnovation #OpticalIllusion #TileDesign #InteriorDesign #ShowroomDisplay #Manchester #CasaCeramica #FloorArt #ArchitecturalInnovation
