Hermès on the Sofa, Wall, Curtains…

Hermès, a brand synonymous with luxury, is expanding its reach into the home textile sector, building upon the recent launch of its inaugural furniture collection. This new venture introduces a diverse range of home textiles, extending beyond their iconic silks to include upholstery-ready fabrics crafted from cotton, cashmere, wool, and linen. A particularly noteworthy addition to this collection is the debut of a variety of striking wallpapers, offering consumers the opportunity to imbue their living spaces with the distinct Hermès aesthetic. This new line is a collaborative effort, combining the extensive 30-plus years of expertise from the Italian textile powerhouse Dedar with the artistic direction characteristic of Hermès. The result is a collection that balances playful illustration with clean graphic designs. Offerings include vibrant depictions of horse race scenes in bright colors, elegant elephants adorned in royal regalia, subtle tone-on-tone abstracted "H" patterns, and a seemingly hand-drawn herringbone print. These designs cater to a range of aesthetic preferences, from the overtly expressive to the subtly sophisticated. For those seeking to make a bold design statement, the article suggests drawing inspiration from the Kips Bay Show House, which demonstrated the dramatic effect of using oversized ikat prints to upholster walls. This approach highlights the versatility of the new Hermès textiles, allowing them to be utilized not just for furniture upholstery but also as an architectural design element, transforming mundane spaces like stairwells into focal points. The collection is produced under Faubourg Italia, a joint subsidiary established by Hermès and Dedar, underscoring the strategic partnership behind this new endeavor. These home textiles and wallpapers will be made available starting this month at select Hermès locations, making luxury home decor more accessible to a discerning clientele. #Hermes #HomeTextiles #LuxuryDecor #Wallpaper #UpholsteryFabrics #DedarCollaboration #InteriorDesign #DesignTrends #Hermes #HomeTextiles #LuxuryDecor #Wallpaper #UpholsteryFabrics #DedarCollaboration #InteriorDesign #DesignTrends
