Extra&ordinary Design and Eileen Ng Collaborate on Teumsae Vase Series

The Teumsae vase series is a collaborative effort between London-based Extra&ordinary; Design and Madrid-based artist Eileen Ng. This handmade collection draws inspiration from the natural phenomenon of plants emerging through cracks in urban environments, specifically mimicking plants pushing through pavement. Extra&ordinary; Design is responsible for crafting the Jesmonite vases, known for their unique forms and contemporary aesthetic. Complementing these vases are the intricate, handmade paper flowers created by Eileen Ng, designed to harmonize with the shape and color of each individual vase. The series introduces five distinct variations, each offering an innovative approach to displaying floral arrangements, challenging the traditional perception of a vase as solely a tall tabletop object. One variation, titled "Teumsae on wall," consists of a set of four units. These units are designed to evoke the imagery of plants growing through gaps in stone fences. The accompanying paper flowers by Ng possess a fluid form, intentionally designed to provide a visual counterpoint to the linear qualities of the vases. Another iteration of "Teumsae on wall" is presented as a singular unit, offering versatility in display. This individual vase can be mounted on a wall at three different angles, allowing for diverse floral compositions. In this design, Ng's delicate paper flowers emerge from a split opening in the angular vase, introducing a soft contrast to its rigid structure. A standing version of "Teumsae on wall" is also part of the collection. This design positions the vase at a 30-degree angle, with the paper stems gracefully ascending and extending into the surrounding space. "Teumsae in layers" features a composition of three distinct components. These components vary in size and depth and are intended to be arranged in a layered fashion, creating a visually engaging and playful display. The softly toned paper flowers in this series are designed to gently rise above the subtle curves of the layered vase components, resulting in a delicate and harmonious aesthetic. The final variation, "Teumsae on table," comprises three vases of differing heights. Each of these vases incorporates a unique four-way split at the top, facilitating the emergence of foliage. For this particular design, Ng created wild foliage pieces that are arranged at various angles and heights. This arrangement provides a lively and untamed contrast to the otherwise fixed and solid appearance of the Jesmonite vases. The Teumsae vase series, with its innovative designs and artistic collaboration, is available for purchase through Extra&ordinary; Design's online shop. #ExtraordinaryDesign #EileenNg #TeumsaeVaseSeries #JesmoniteVases #PaperFlowers #HomeDecor #FloralArrangement #ContemporaryDesign #ArtisticCollaboration #ExtraordinaryDesign #EileenNg #TeumsaeVaseSeries #JesmoniteVases #PaperFlowers #HomeDecor #FloralArrangement #ContemporaryDesign #ArtisticCollaboration
