Venetian Terrazzo reinterpreted in a modern key takes to residential and contract spaces

The Wall2Floor Terrazzo system by Novacolor reinterprets the traditional Venetian Terrazzo, a flooring material with historical roots, for contemporary architectural applications. This system incorporates Murano glass crystals, providing a modern aesthetic while honoring a centuries-old craft. The original Venetian Terrazzo, developed over time, was a composite of lime, fine earthenware, and colored marble and glass granules. Its evolution saw the inclusion of precious marbles from various regions, contributing to its diverse appearance and high demand. Novacolor's Wall2Floor Terrazzo is a mineral flooring system, developed in collaboration with the Promovetro Consortium of Murano. This partnership ensures the integration of authentic Murano cotisso crystals and Carrara marble into the material, resulting in unique and inimitable surfaces. The system offers seamless, continuous coatings suitable for both horizontal and vertical surfaces in residential and contract spaces, aligning with current high-end architectural trends. The irregular patterns and six color variations, coupled with the brilliance of the Murano glass, allow for a dynamic visual effect that shifts with the changing light throughout the day. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the application of new production techniques enhances its functionality, making it a viable option for diverse interior designs. Murano glassmaking holds significant historical and cultural importance, dating back to the 11th century. In 1291, Venetian glassworks were relocated to Murano to mitigate fire risks, leading to the island becoming a renowned center for glass production. Utilizing locally available raw materials like silica sand, master glassmakers continuously refined techniques to create a highly valued material. This expertise fostered a prized craftsmanship, making Murano glass recognizable and appreciated globally. The Wall2Floor Terrazzo system bridges this rich heritage with contemporary design needs, allowing the allure of Venetian glass art to be integrated into modern living and commercial environments. The Wall2Floor Terrazzo system is part of Novacolor’s broader Wall2Floor range, which emphasizes multilayered mineral systems for continuous surface applications. This product represents a fusion of traditional Venetian artistry and modern material science, offering a durable and visually striking solution for interior finishes. The collaboration with the Promovetro Consortium underscores a commitment to authenticity and quality, ensuring that the Murano glass elements are genuine and contribute to the system's unique character. The product aims to bring a piece of Venetian cultural heritage into diverse architectural projects, from private residences to public contract spaces. #VenetianTerrazzo #MuranoGlass #Novacolor #Wall2Floor #InteriorDesign #ArchitecturalFinishes #SurfaceCoatings #ItalianCraftsmanship #DesignTrends #VenetianTerrazzo #MuranoGlass #Novacolor #Wall2Floor #InteriorDesign #ArchitecturalFinishes #SurfaceCoatings #ItalianCraftsmanship #DesignTrends
