Backdrop Just Released This Award-Winning Wallpaper in a Removable Version
Backdrop has launched a new collection of removable wallpapers, addressing common concerns about using wallpaper in moisture-prone and high-traffic areas like kitchens. While traditionally, wallpaper in such spaces was advised against due to potential damage from moisture and food splatters, this new line offers a practical solution. The brand has introduced temporary versions of its popular designs, engineered for easier cleaning compared to conventional wallpapers, requiring only a damp cloth for maintenance.
The collection features 14 prints, including various colorways of Gambit, a two-tone checkerboard pattern that previously received Domino’s Good Design Award. Notably, Gambit is priced at $488 per panel, positioning it as a premium option. However, its peel-and-stick application simplifies installation for DIY enthusiasts, potentially negating the need for professional assistance, and offers the added benefit of being removable for those who move frequently.
In addition to Gambit, the collection includes other easy-to-clean designs such as Wabi-Sabi and Bloomsbury, which are also suitable for creating optical illusions in kitchens or bathrooms. These designs, along with Rhinestone Cowboy Bright Yellow and Gambit Sky & Deep Navy, are available in different pricing tiers, with some starting at $34 per yard.
This release from Backdrop aims to make wallpaper a more viable and versatile design element for areas previously considered unsuitable, offering both aesthetic appeal and practical benefits such as ease of cleaning and removability. The brand's focus on innovative solutions for home decor allows individuals to incorporate desired patterns and textures without long-term commitment or high maintenance.
