Keep Your Kitchen Bright Without White With The Paint Color The Stars Of Married To Real Estate Love

While all-white cabinetry is a popular design choice, its starkness might not always be the best fit for every kitchen, sometimes appearing too harsh depending on existing home styles. HGTV's Egypt Sherrod from "Married to Real Estate" introduced an alternative to homeowners seeking a bright kitchen without the sterile feel of pure white. She suggested using Benjamin Moore's Collingswood, a shade that offers depth and dimension while maintaining brightness. In a Season 2 episode, Sherrod enthusiastically presented Collingswood, describing it as a color that is "not gray, not taupe, not white." She highlighted its ability to provide the desired light and bright kitchen aesthetic without the sterile connotations often associated with pure white. This paint color, which subtly incorporates elements of gray, taupe, and white, proved to be an ideal choice for cabinets. It served as a versatile neutral base, complementing the homeowners' selections of gray-marbled countertops and mixed metal accents, which included both black and satin-finished brass. An additional practical benefit of Collingswood is its ability to mask dirt more effectively than all-white kitchens, which tend to show imperfections more readily. Benjamin Moore officially classifies Collingswood as a light gray. However, in practice, the color presents as a sophisticated off-white with delicate undertones of gray and taupe. This nuanced composition makes it highly adaptable, capable of harmonizing with a diverse range of wood finishes and other materials, whether warm or cool-toned, commonly found in contemporary kitchens. While gray kitchen cabinets have gained considerable traction in recent years, darker gray shades can sometimes make a kitchen appear somber or overly uniform and trend-driven. Collingswood, along with similar hues, offers an excellent middle ground. It delivers the rich depth and dimensionality characteristic of a light gray, coupled with the luminous, light-reflecting qualities typically associated with white. Alternatives to Collingswood that offer a comparable aesthetic include Sherwin Williams' Colonnade Gray and Benjamin Moore's Rodeo. These warmer off-white shades impart a classic and timeless feel to cabinetry, allowing other kitchen elements to shine without the cabinets themselves demanding excessive attention. Furthermore, Collingswood is an excellent option for upper cabinets, particularly if a different color, such as a medium gray or forest green, is chosen for lower cabinets. This approach helps maintain a sense of lightness and spaciousness at eye level, a quality often sought after with white cabinets, but with a warmer and less stark contrast to the complementary lower cabinet color. #kitchenDesign #paintColors #neutralPalette #homeDecor #HGTVDesign #Collingswood #cabinetry #kitchenDesign #paintColors #neutralPalette #homeDecor #HGTVDesign #Collingswood #cabinetry
