Awning Windows From Marvin Make Fresh Air Automatic
Marvin has introduced new automated casement and awning windows as part of their Modern product line, designed to offer enhanced functionality and integration with smart home systems. These windows, powered by 24v DC motors, allow for convenient operation through various methods. Users can open and close them using switches located directly on the units, wall switches, or by integrating them into a customized daily schedule via home automation systems, voice assistants, or the dedicated Marvin Home app. This app provides advanced control options, enabling users to program windows for scheduled ventilation or remote operation based on specific conditions, such as outdoor temperature and humidity levels.
A key feature of these automated windows is their intelligent sensor system. The windows are equipped to detect rain, automatically overriding any set programs to close and protect the interior from adverse weather conditions. Furthermore, a built-in capacitor ensures that the windows can shut even during a power outage, maintaining security and weather protection. The integration of automated capabilities does not compromise the windows' performance. However, there are some specific design considerations; for instance, auto-operated awning windows, which utilize a single center latch instead of two side latches, are limited to a maximum height of 44 inches. In contrast, there are no size restrictions for the auto-operated Modern casement windows.
For safety and compliance with building codes, particularly egress requirements, the auto-operated casement windows include a manual override system. This feature allows for manual operation in emergency situations, such as a power outage, ensuring occupants can still exit through the window if needed. These new automated casement and awning windows are currently available through select dealers. Beyond these offerings, Marvin's product portfolio also includes other auto-operated solutions, such as multi-slide doors and skylights, further expanding their range of intelligent home-ventilation and access systems. This expansion into automated window technology reflects a growing trend towards smart home integration and increased convenience in residential design.
