gandia blasco group 2024 catalog makes room for indoor-outdoor furniture exploration
The Gandia Blasco Group's Outdoor 2024 Annex catalog showcases a diverse range of contemporary furniture designed to seamlessly bridge indoor and outdoor living spaces. This collection emphasizes fluidity and the dissolution of traditional boundaries between the interior and exterior environments, exploring the dynamic interplay between intimate indoor settings and expansive outdoor areas. The catalog features contributions from the group's three distinct brands: GANDIABLASCO, GAN, and Diabla, and highlights collaborations with renowned designers such as Patricia Urquiola and Todd Bracher.
GANDIABLASCO introduces the ERNO collection, a modular pouf system inspired by the Rubik’s Cube, designed to offer versatile seating arrangements for both indoor and outdoor use. These poufs are crafted with quilted, grid-shaped fabric and utilize quick-drying Gravidry® foam padding, which is breathable and highly moisture-resistant, making them ideal for outdoor environments. The collection also includes backrests and armrests to enhance adaptability. Additionally, GANDIABLASCO presents the GBMODULAR extension, a flexible construction system that uses extruded recyclable aluminum profiles to create various configurations, including armchairs, two-seater sofas, low tables, mirrors, bookshelves, and sideboards. This system is designed for durability, resistance, and ease of maintenance, incorporating technical fabrics from Kvadrat and Sunbrella, as well as 100% recycled PET fabrics from Reviva, promoting both aesthetic appeal and environmental sustainability.
GAN, another brand under the Gandia Blasco Group, focuses on versatility with its MANGAS OUTDOOR collection, conceptualized by Patricia Urquiola. This series reinterprets the warmth of hand-knitted wool sweaters for outdoor settings, utilizing braided recycled PET fibers. The square poufs and seating modules are constructed entirely from recycled PET bottles and filled with varying densities of quick-drying foam rubber. These pieces are engineered to endure outdoor conditions, including humidity and UV rays, and feature removable covers for convenient cleaning and prolonged use. GAN also features the CITRUS collection by Jorge Garaje, a series of outdoor kilims crafted from 100% recycled and reclaimed PET fibers, meticulously handmade in India. These rugs pay homage to oranges, limes, and lemons, with layered rounded contours and a graphic grid design that evokes the mesh bags traditionally used for fruit display.
Diabla, the youngest brand within the group, brings a theatrical flair to outdoor design. Creative Director Alejandra Gandía-Blasco draws inspiration from the golden age of cinema to create pieces like the PATOSO seating collection. Inspired by the Daisy Theater in Memphis, Tennessee, the PATOSO seats blend a harlequin aesthetic with comfort. These four-legged poufs are adorned with vibrant fabrics reminiscent of Commedia dell’Arte, adding a whimsical and theatrical touch to outdoor spaces. The PATOSO collection has received recognition from the NYCxDesign Awards, DNA Paris Awards, and Archiproducts Awards. The Outdoor 2024 Annex by Gandia Blasco Group underscores the company’s commitment to innovative design, craftsmanship, and sustainability, offering furniture solutions that enhance the functionality and aesthetic appeal of both indoor and outdoor living areas.
