Trends in textile editors: color, textures and maximalist prints

The latest interior design trends for 2026 are embracing a maximalist approach, characterized by bold prints, rich textures, and a vibrant combination of colors. Wallpapers and upholstery are positioned as central elements in creating distinctive atmospheres and personalizing living spaces. The sector is also seeing a significant push towards sustainability, integrating eco-friendly materials and manufacturing processes into new collections. Wallpapers are moving towards designs that highlight natural reliefs, plant fibers, and handcrafted finishes, creating immersive and organic environments. Popular choices include hand-dyed raffias, murals that mimic plaster or clay textures, and surfaces reminiscent of traditional artisanal craftsmanship. This emphasis on natural aesthetics is coupled with a strong commitment to environmental responsibility. New wallpaper collections feature eco-friendly inks, low-impact printing techniques, and recycled backings. Concurrently, high-resistance vinyl wallpapers continue to gain popularity due to their durability and suitability for high-traffic areas, balancing aesthetic appeal with practical performance. In upholstery, the focus is on naturalness, volume, and sophistication. Thick linen, wool, and high-grammage cotton fabrics are prominent, offering a soft tactile experience, a refined look, and a natural feel that aligns with contemporary interior design preferences. The maximalist trend is further evident in the resurgence of jacquards, chenilles, and large-scale prints. Functionality is also a key consideration, with eco-friendly and easy-to-clean fabrics becoming essential for both residential and commercial spaces, ensuring that beauty and utility coexist harmoniously. The dominant color palette for the upcoming season is directly inspired by nature, featuring earthy tones such as terracotta, ochre, and clay, alongside calming forest greens. These colors are intended to imbue interiors with a sense of serenity and warmth. Deeper hues like petrol blue and aubergine are used to introduce contrast and an element of sophistication. Both geometric and floral motifs are making a strong comeback, characterized by a more expressive and ornamental visual language. These innovations in textiles, including wallpapers, upholstery, curtains, trimmings, and carpets, will be showcased at the upcoming Intergift event, scheduled from February 4 to 7, 2026. This fair will provide an exclusive platform for exploring the latest developments in international interior design. #InteriorDesign #MaximalistPrints #TextileTrends #WallpaperDesign #UpholsteryFabrics #SustainableDesign #ColorPalette #HomeDecor #IntergiftFair #InteriorDesign #MaximalistPrints #TextileTrends #WallpaperDesign #UpholsteryFabrics #SustainableDesign #ColorPalette #HomeDecor #IntergiftFair
