Ten of the latest lighting designs on Dezeen Showroom
This article highlights ten new lighting designs featured on Dezeen Showroom, a platform for brands to showcase new products and connect with a global audience. The collection includes various lighting types, from floor and pendant lamps to wall lights and outdoor sconces, demonstrating a range of styles and functionalities. These products are developed by a mix of established and emerging designers for international brands, emphasizing both aesthetic appeal and practical innovation in contemporary lighting.
Among the featured designs are the Ozz lamps by Paolo Cappello and Simone Sabatti for Italian brand Miniforms. This collection is characterized by its exaggerated curved forms, including a bedside lamp with an ash wood table, a floor lamp anchored by a concrete base, and a wall light with an adjustable lampshade.
Another innovative design is Trypta by Stephen Burks for Luceplan, a pendant light engineered to enhance spatial acoustics. It comprises three sound-absorbing panels upholstered in flame-retardant fabric, available in eight colors, affixed to a cylindrical bar with either a matt-black or aluminum finish.
Atelier de Troupe from California presents Compas Pendants, a series of handcrafted brass pendant lights. These lights feature an ellipse-shaped single sheet of brass for their shades, offered in perforated brass or a satin-white finish.
Karim Rashid designed the Cyborg light for Martinelli Luce, a table lamp with long legs available in indoor and outdoor versions. The outdoor model is made from high-resistance concrete, while the indoor version is constructed from cast and lacquered aluminum.
Marset, a Barcelona-based lighting brand, introduces Ginger C outdoor lights, a collection of circular sconces designed for illuminating paths and passageways. The rust-colored aluminum shades diffuse soft light from their centers.
Ocrum Studios from New York offers the Dew & Drop pendant light, inspired by the form of dewdrops. This light consists of two hand-blown glass hemispheres encasing an LED light on a single fixture.
Astro Lighting, a British brand, presents the Tacoma sconce, a wall-mounted light inspired by Gothic architecture. It features a mouth-blown glass globe shade in various finishes and a metal mount in matt black, antique brass, or polished chrome.
Shakúff, a Brooklyn-based studio, created the Tamar Wand pendant lights, made from blown glass. These tubular shades have brushed brass and chrome details, with a drizzled texture created by thinly-blown borosilicate glass.
Anglepoise expanded its Type 80 collection with the W2 and W3 wall lights. These lights feature a conical shade and an angular arm with flexible joints, allowing for adjustable light direction.
Finally, Mayice Studio designed the Dune light for LZF Lamps, a hand-blown pendant light. An LED rod is housed within a single piece of hand-blown borosilicate glass that forms an organic, ballooning shape in the middle. These selections collectively illustrate contemporary trends in lighting design, focusing on innovative materials, forms, and functionalities.
