Panel Systems - Horizontal Panel from RHEINZINK
RHEINZINK horizontal panels are a contemporary and versatile metal panel system designed for horizontal façade compositions. These panels offer a modern, flat aesthetic suitable for various architectural applications, including commercial, residential, cultural, public, and industrial buildings, as well as hospitality projects. The system is particularly favored by planners and builders seeking clean structures with subtle design elements.
One of the key features of RHEINZINK horizontal panels is their customizability. They can be specified in individual lengths up to 6000 mm (approximately 19.6 feet), which allows for the creation of large, uninterrupted façade surfaces. This flexibility extends to construction widths, which can range from 200 mm (approximately 0.66 inches) to 333 mm (approximately 1.09 inches). For construction widths equal to or greater than 250 mm, a metal thickness of 1.2 mm is recommended, while 1.0 mm is also available. Standard panel lengths are 3000 mm and 4000 mm.
The design incorporates 20 mm (approximately 0.065 inches) wide shadow gaps, which contribute to a clear and structured visual statement on the facade. The system is also adaptable to unusual or curved façade surfaces, particularly with the use of H 25 horizontal panels. The installation process is described as simple, thoroughly tried, and tested, ensuring ease of assembly.
A significant technical aspect of the RHEINZINK horizontal panel system is its indirect and invisible attachment method. This involves a specially developed rail that minimizes stresses in the material, which can arise from temperature-related changes in length. This indirect attachment helps maintain the integrity and appearance of the façade over time. The product is also Cradle to Cradle Certified™, indicating a commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible material usage.
In addition to facades, these metal panels can also be used for roofing and other exterior or outdoor applications. They are available in various metal types, including titanium and zinc/aluzinc, offering different aesthetic and performance characteristics. RHEINZINK provides several general catalogs and product files, such as brochures and fact sheets detailing zinc material properties, to assist architects and builders in product selection and application.
