A central challenge for the design team was to reconcile the demands of a contemporary dental practice, which necessitate strict hygiene standards and advanced equipment, with the inherent character and structural logic of traditional Japanese homes. Takayasu Nawachi, the lead designer, emphasized maintaining the 'strength that comes from the traditional logic of old Japanese homes' throughout the process.
