This Pine Ridge Estates Manse Exemplifies the Modern Farmhouse Look
The article showcases a sprawling modern farmhouse in Naples' Pine Ridge Estates, designed by Linda and Rich Donnelly of R.O.I. Naples. The residence blends Hamptons farmhouse aesthetics with Brutalist influences and contemporary Florida sophistication, embodying the couple's signature style. Exterior features include whitewashed brick, a standing seam metal roof, and board-and-batten cladding, while interiors emphasize neutral hues, high ceilings, and an open floor plan. The Donnellys collaborated with Goia Architecture to achieve this transitional aesthetic, which highlights craftsmanship, premium materials, and high design.
The home's entrance features a massive faux concrete and plaster structure, with a welcoming nook-like entryway. Shou Sugi Ban hemlock wood walls are lit by dramatic pin lights, and a colossal 15-by-12-foot iron-and-glass pivot front door provides a striking entry point. The ceiling is gray-stained cypress, and imported Italian porcelain covers the floor, creating a contemplative space before entering the main residence.
The great room features chevroned Brazilian chestnut flooring and a multidimensional feature wall resembling weathered steel plates, crafted by O’Guin Decorative Finishes with black Italian marble plaster. A custom-designed iron chandelier by David Whitman Alger with 17 domed lights and a gold finish hangs from the 23-foot vaulted ceiling, serving as a focal point. Seating includes a low-slung Minotti Andersen sectional and armchairs, upholstered in textured gray Arson fabric and tobacco saddle hide leather, grounding the space in farmhouse roots. An Amini wool-and-silk rug in creamy and light gray hues ties the palette together.
The open-concept flow continues into the kitchen, subtly divided by a monolithic fireplace. This fire feature, with an Exclusive White Quartzite base and a linear bioethanol fireplace, is leather-finished for a matte, pebbled appearance. The floating faux chimney, treated with a troweled plaster finish, adds warmth against industrial elements. The kitchen boasts leather-finished white quartzite countertops and a 12-foot waterfall island. Van Eliza Design and Woodworkers Cabinet of Naples created the fumed oak paneling with a chevron pattern, concealing a SubZero refrigerator and freezer, and a hidden pantry for entertaining.
The dining area is highlighted by a Marcel Wanders for Flos chandelier with a white porcelain bird motif. An adjacent bar features Blue Island Quartzite, an angled waterfall design, and black iron-and-glass floating shelves. Throughout the home, meticulous detailing such as flush baseboards with a half-inch reglet creates clean lines and a shadow effect, exemplifying intricate minimalism. The home office features opaque custom Bendheim glass doors.
The primary suite receives ample natural light and features gray Venetian plaster walls with a suede finish by O’Guin, rising to a 16-foot vaulted ceiling. The en suite bathroom is a luxurious space with 3D mosaic, walnut walls from Duchateau, a separate glass-enclosed shower with porcelain slab walls, and Mir Mosaic marble tile underfoot. Three additional en suites, each with earthy jute rugs, woven cane furnishings, and modernist patterns, provide privacy for guests. The outdoor lanai extends the living space, featuring a fully equipped alfresco kitchen with two grills, a smoker, and two fridges, complemented by cypress tongue-and-groove ceilings. A sunken conversation pit with a fire feature and ear-level fountains creates a serene outdoor retreat.
