Louis Vuitton | Home Collections at Milan Design Week
Louis Vuitton's design philosophy, originating from a foundation of structure, functionality, and elegance, began with its classic trunks and luggage. This initial venture evolved into a global design empire, extending beyond fashion accessories to encompass furniture and home decor that embodies the brand's signature playful yet refined aesthetic. At this year's Milan Design Week, Louis Vuitton unveiled significant additions across five of its esteemed home collections: Objet Nomades, Signature Collection, Exceptional Gaming, Home Decoration and Textiles, and Table Arts. Each collection thoughtfully integrates classic Louis Vuitton motifs with contemporary design elements.
The Objet Nomades collection, which commenced in 2012, continues to represent an innovative and experimental approach to home furnishings. This year's showcase included the Kaleidoscope Cabinet, a series of eight unique pieces, each individually crafted. The collection's ethos is to continuously elevate its predecessors through exclusive designs. The Home Decor and Textiles collection introduced vibrant ceramics and leather items designed by Spanish artist Jaime Hayon, contributing a cheerful and colorful spirit ideal for the springtime season. Patricia Urquiola also contributed to this collection with catch-all trays and vases, drawing inspiration from the Objet Nomades line, thereby fostering a cohesive design narrative across the different collections.
The Signature Collection is presented as the brand's intimate connection to the home, characterized by its use of warm woods and diverse textures. This collection features modular couches and other furniture pieces that exemplify comfort combined with elegance. It bridges historical Louis Vuitton motifs with contemporary designs, creating a space filled with cultural and spiritual connections. The Exceptional Gaming collection received a notable new entry: a pinball machine inspired by Louis Vuitton Men's SS25 runway show, conceptualized by menswear director Pharrell Williams. Furthermore, Estúdio Campana offered a fresh interpretation of a football table within this conceptual collection. The Table Arts collection was updated with a new deep black color option for the coiling collection, designed by Japanese artist Nendo. A portion of this collection also serves as an homage to the futurist designer Fortunato Depero, with tableware and textiles that echo his distinctive avant-garde style. Collectively, these new additions across Louis Vuitton's Home Collections underscore the brand's ongoing commitment to innovative design and its ability to blend heritage with modernity.
