8 Vastu tips for home wardrobes and cabinetry

This article explores the application of Vastu principles to home wardrobes and cabinetry, emphasizing that efficient organization and maintenance of storage spaces can contribute to increased wealth and well-being. Vastu expert Neeta Sinha from AstroArchitecture highlights that cabinets represent wealth and material comforts, thus requiring meticulous organization even in less accessible areas of the home. The article provides specific Vastu guidelines for various storage solutions, starting with kitchen cabinets. For kitchen cabinets, Sinha advises against overloading the space above the head, recommending that storage should not extend to where one stands and works. Instead, she suggests utilizing side walls for storage to maintain a clear space above. Moving to mirrored showcases, the article notes that traditionally, storerooms and heavy wardrobes were placed in the west and south for structural stability. However, Sinha strongly advises against lining cabinets or lockers with mirrors on all sides, as this symbolizes oblivion and is considered inauspicious in Vedic architecture. For those drawn to vintage mirrored pieces, she recommends replacing mirrors with glass to comply with Vastu principles. Regarding study rooms, the article suggests building cabinetry such that the student faces east or north when accessing them, as these directions are associated with growth. It also cautions against placing cabinets directly above the head in a study area, as this can hinder learning. The functionality of cabinet doors is also addressed; doors should open to their full capacity without obstructions, and hinges should be well-oiled and free of dirt to prevent hindrance in various aspects of life. Sinha advises against leaving wallets or house keys on the flat surface above cabinets. For wardrobes, Sinha again expresses caution regarding mirrored doors, explaining that mirrors are powerful elements that amplify energy. She recommends consulting a Feng Shui master or Vastukar before installing mirrors in a space, or at least covering them with lace or crochet curtains when not in use. In bedrooms, the article stresses the importance of leaving the area around the bed unfettered, suggesting that the space under the bed should remain vacant rather than being used for storage of luggage or linen. Cabinets installed directly above the headboard are also advised against, as they can disrupt restful sleep. When it comes to safes and money boxes, the article provides specific directional advice: the back of the safe should face south, ruled by Rahu, while the door should open towards the north, ruled by Kuber, the Hindu god of wealth. This configuration is believed to ensure a continuous flow of money. Finally, the article touches upon shoe racks, advising that they should be aesthetically pleasing and well-deodorized, as they are often the first thing visitors notice. The overarching theme is that adhering to these Vastu tips can create a harmonious environment that supports wealth, learning, and well-being within the home. #VastuTips #HomeStorage #CabinetryDesign #WardrobeVastu #KitchenVastu #BedroomStorage #WealthVastu #HomeOrganization #IndianArchitecture #VastuTips #HomeStorage #CabinetryDesign #WardrobeVastu #KitchenVastu #BedroomStorage #WealthVastu #HomeOrganization #IndianArchitecture
