More than just wardrobes
Effective storage solutions are paramount in creating a comfortable and functional home, a principle frequently emphasized by contestants on 'The Block.' While aesthetic elements like location and styling draw initial attention, well-designed storage, encompassing everything from bedroom wardrobes to kitchen pantries and laundry cupboards, fundamentally distinguishes an organized living space from a cluttered one. Achieving a harmonious blend of style and practicality in storage can be challenging, a hurdle often overcome by consulting experts in the field.
Kinsman, a recognized authority in home cabinetry, consistently demonstrates its versatility through its modular systems. Phil Ryder, Kinsman Wardrobes design manager and a veteran of 'The Block,' highlights that their expertise allows for a wide array of storage solutions tailored to various sizes and needs, maximizing the utility of available space. This adaptability extends beyond traditional uses, with customers inquiring about and successfully integrating Kinsman joinery into unconventional areas, such as entertainment units. This flexibility has been a key factor in developing Kinsman's capacity to furnish diverse areas of the home.
Alisa and Lysandra, former contestants and current Kinsman Brand Ambassadors, attest to the extensive modular capabilities of Kinsman cabinetry, which they have incorporated into their ongoing construction projects. They emphasize the convenience of being able to collaborate with a single specialist for all cabinetry requirements, from kitchens and laundries to bedrooms and living room entertainment units. This comprehensive approach is facilitated by the inherent versatility of Kinsman's product lines. Visiting a Kinsman showroom often ignites creative ideas, allowing individuals to visualize how various elements can be integrated into new designs.
During the 2021 season of 'The Block,' Kinsman's philosophy of "more than just kitchens and wardrobes" led to the creation of some of the most innovative storage solutions seen on the show. Contestants leveraged Kinsman's existing options, including a range of finishes, door styles, and fittings, to define the aesthetic of their rooms and entire homes. Several examples illustrate this application:
In House 1, Ronnie and Georgia designed a basement cinema room where storage was a critical consideration. They installed a spacious entertainment unit featuring Bottega Oak Woodmatt cabinetry and Deep Internal Drawers to conceal electronics, alongside a built-in fridge and a lolly drawer. The dark woodmatt joinery, complemented by a Vanilla Noir Caesarstone® top and LED strip lighting, established the desired mood for the space.
Mitch and Mark, in House 2, showcased Kinsman's solutions in their master bedroom walk-in wardrobe, utilizing Stone Grey Matt Montauk profile doors with Natural Oak Matt interiors and Black Frame Glass Shelves. A notable addition was a matching credenza with Montauk Stone Grey Matt doors and internal drawers, topped with a Caesarstone® Aterra Blanca surface. This credenza extended the walk-in wardrobe's style into the bedroom, adding significant storage capacity.
Tanya and Vito, in House 3, prioritized practical storage in their master bedroom. Their walk-in wardrobe incorporated clever solutions like Wire Pull-outs, a Trouser Rack Pull-out, and a Laundry Hamper, illuminated by Black Light Bars. They also integrated a hinged wardrobe design, serving as an entertainment hub with Natural Oak Ravine cabinetry, Ribe Oak Timber handles, and a combination of Black Framed Glass Shelves and Black Hanging Rails, framing a mirror television.
Josh and Luke, in House 4, transformed their basement into a versatile entertainment area. They opted for open shelving in Estella Oak Matt and a mix of tall and lower White Cement cabinetry from the Kinsman FX Series. Featuring Square Hook Matt Black handles, Inner Drawers, Lift Down Doors, and Premium Verti-Strip lighting, this area, crowned with Caesarstone® Frosty Carrina, demonstrated extensive and stylish storage possibilities.
Finally, in House 5, Kirsty and Jesse faced the challenge of incorporating storage into a guest bedroom with a large window. Kinsman provided a U-shaped robe that embraced the window, creating a bench-seat reading nook. White Shaker Style Montauk doors, Satin Brass Rounded Bar handles, Premium LED Verti-Strip lighting, and lower storage cabinetry below the window created a highly functional and aesthetically pleasing Hamptons-style solution, enhancing the room's view.
Ultimately, Kinsman's adaptable cabinetry consistently offers unique solutions that provide more storage than initially imagined, fulfilling the contestants' aspirations. Phil Ryder assures clients that regardless of their choices, they can be confident in making the right decision with Kinsman, urging them to consult experts for their storage needs and to explore the Kinsman collection.
