DeSitter Tile And Stone Gallery Relocating To Glen Ellyn
DeSitter Tile and Stone Gallery, currently located at 301 W. Hillgrove Ave., La Grange, is slated to move to a new, larger showroom in Glen Ellyn. The new location, to be known as DeSitter Glen Ellyn Tile and Flooring Gallery, will be situated at 444 Roosevelt Rd., Glen Ellyn. This relocation is being undertaken to enhance the company's offerings in hard surfaces, a segment experiencing continuous growth and demand within the industry.
The relocation of the tile store is scheduled to finalize at the end of Friday, June 16. Existing customers with ongoing tile projects that extend beyond this date are assured a smooth transition to the Glen Ellyn showroom. Furthermore, prospective customers interested in embarking on a new tile project will benefit from an expanded product selection, a greater variety of display vignettes, and improved design assistance services at the new Glen Ellyn facility.
While the tile and stone gallery transitions to its new home, DeSitter's carpet and flooring showroom, located at the intersection of Hillgrove and Kensington Avenues in La Grange, will remain operational and continue to serve the local community. Significant renovations are also planned for this La Grange facility to further enhance its capabilities. DeSitter has maintained a presence in La Grange for 67 years, establishing a long-standing history in the area.
Steve DeSitter, co-owner of the company, articulated that the move to Glen Ellyn is a direct response to the increasing industry trend and consumer demand for hard surfaces. The new showroom in Glen Ellyn will consolidate an increased and improved space dedicated to hardwood, Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT), traditional tile, and stone products under one roof, which he highlighted as a point of pride for the company. Tom Cunningham, another co-owner, affirmed that both the La Grange and Glen Ellyn locations will feature a comprehensive range of products, including carpets, rugs, runners, hardwood, and luxury vinyl plank.
Cunningham emphasized that both showrooms will uphold DeSitter's commitment to excellence by providing outstanding products and unparalleled customer service. The company, which is family-owned and operated, boasts a history spanning three generations, having been founded by Louis DeSitter in 1920. Today, it is managed by his grandsons, Tom Cunningham and Steve DeSitter. A core principle that has remained consistent throughout the generations is a strong dedication to teamwork and serving all customers with integrity and care. The company aims to build long-term relationships by improving people's living, working, and recreational environments, with a continued focus on future growth and customer satisfaction.
