Interior Designer Julia Hall Liegeois Shares Her Favorite Global Finds

Naples-based interior designer Julia Hall Liegeois curates a selection of global finds that exemplify refined craftsmanship, thoughtful provenance, and a touch of playful elegance. Her picks are highlighted for their ability to bring ease and sophistication to a space, focusing on pieces that tell a story and endure over time. This month's feature showcases items that balance modern aesthetics with traditional techniques and materials. Among Liegeois's selections is the Form Light by New York designer Anna Karlin. This lighting fixture is described as functional sculpture, combining cast bronze, hand-blown glass, marble, and brass in a floor-to-ceiling composition. The custom-made piece, designed to fit a room's height, suspends materials like jewelry on an acrylic rail. Its muted palette allows it to integrate into both modern and traditional interiors, maintaining a subtle presence while offering a contemporary artistic statement. Liegeois emphasizes its versatility, noting its ability to translate seamlessly into various design contexts. Another significant piece is the Clorophilla chair by Fratelli Boffi. This chair merges folk art influences with Milanese sophistication, featuring a sturdy walnut frame. Its backrest is crafted from a bundle of hand-hewn leaves, complementing twisted, root-like legs to create a cohesive biophilic theme. Liegeois appreciates Fratelli Boffi's commitment to thoughtful furniture design, which draws from a century-long history of the Northern Italian company while also embracing experimental approaches. She is drawn to pieces with a rich provenance, believing that such objects enrich a home with texture, meaning, and personal narrative, making a home a reflection of its inhabitants. Liegeois also features the Piccione Rug by Eichholtz, selected for its conscious consumption principles and durability. Made from hand-tufted New Zealand wool, the rug is preferred over silk for its longevity and washability, making it suitable for high-traffic areas. This rug combines bold dimension with subtle tonality, featuring a modernist motif named after the Italian word for white dove of peace, carrying universal symbolism. For coastal modern spaces, Liegeois suggests layering it over a jute rug to enhance its refined simplicity through natural textures. The Palla Console Table by FORM (LA) is another highlight, chosen for its use of natural materials that are considered timeless. Australian architect Jordan Mosslar founded FORM (LA) to streamline the process of sourcing and commissioning natural stone pieces. The Palla Console Table exemplifies a blend of modernist precision and earthen beauty, with its rhythmic surface appearing to balance over stacked spheres in mathematical harmony. Available in finishes such as luminous travertine and dark marble, the table is designed to transcend trends while celebrating the inherent beauty and enduring quality of stone. Liegeois values the incorporation of natural materials as they contribute to a style that resists fleeting trends and offers lasting appeal. #InteriorDesign #GlobalFinds #HomeDecor #DesignInspiration #LuxuryDesign #AnnaKarlin #FratelliBoffi #Eichholtz #FORMLA #InteriorDesign #GlobalFinds #HomeDecor #DesignInspiration #LuxuryDesign #AnnaKarlin #FratelliBoffi #Eichholtz #FORMLA
