I've used both of Solo Stove's Mesa tabletop fire pits and I have a clear favorite

The Solo Stove Mesa tabletop fire pit offers a compact alternative for outdoor entertaining for individuals lacking extensive backyard space for larger fire pits. This product, available in two sizes—the Mesa and the Mesa XL—is designed to function with either wood or pellets. While it serves as an aesthetic enhancement for outdoor gatherings, it is not intended to provide significant warmth. The Mesa was introduced in the summer of 2022, priced at $79. It comes in a traditional stainless steel finish, as well as a variety of colors including blue, black, red, green, and white, making it suitable as an accent piece for a table. The Mesa XL, a larger version, became available in February 2023 for $109. It shares the same color options as the smaller Mesa. While the smaller Mesa is widely available, the Mesa XL is currently limited to Solo Stove's official website. Both models share a similar design, resembling miniature versions of Solo Stove's full-sized fire pits. They feature a cylindrical steel construction with perforations at the base. The Mesa is comparable in size to a large 35-ounce tomato can, while the Mesa XL approximates the width of a roll of paper towels. Each fire pit includes removable components, such as a top ring for airflow direction and a small stand to elevate it from the table. The Mesa incorporates a pellet adapter, whereas the Mesa XL features a dual-fuel grate compatible with both pellets and hardwood. In terms of performance, both the Mesa and Mesa XL generate a substantial flame, comparable to larger fire pits. The flame can extend 3-4 inches above the rim, necessitating caution regarding proximity to flammable objects. However, these tabletop fire pits do not emit significant heat, distinguishing them from patio heaters. Both models support wood and pellet fuel. The smaller Mesa proves impractical with wood due to the requirement for pieces 3 inches or smaller, leading to a preference for wood pellets. The Mesa's rapid pellet consumption necessitates frequent refilling, approximately every five minutes, which can be cumbersome and may lead to the fire extinguishing if neglected. The Mesa XL, in contrast, accommodates wood pieces up to 5 inches, which are easier to source. The larger wood pieces burn longer, requiring refilling every 15 minutes, thus offering a more relaxed experience. Both models are designed for easy cleaning, as their efficient combustion results in minimal ash residue. Cleaning involves simply removing the interior components and inverting the unit. Despite not being a primary heat source, the Solo Stove Mesa serves as a decorative and enjoyable tabletop accessory, particularly for activities like marshmallow toasting. The Mesa XL is generally favored over the smaller Mesa due to its improved fuel management and convenience, making it a more practical choice for extended outdoor use with family and friends. #SoloStove #TabletopFirePit #OutdoorEntertaining #MesaXL #HomeDecor #OutdoorLiving #FirePitReview #ProductComparison #OutdoorAccessories #SoloStove #TabletopFirePit #OutdoorEntertaining #MesaXL #HomeDecor #OutdoorLiving #FirePitReview #ProductComparison #OutdoorAccessories
