[Bespoke Home] ① Bespoke Colors and Finishes for Every Lifestyle
Samsung Electronics has introduced its vision for a 'Bespoke Home' with the global expansion of its Bespoke refrigerator lineup, aiming to offer beautifully designed, flexible, and seamlessly connected appliances. This article, the first in the 'Bespoke Home' series, focuses on the colors, configurations, and collaborations available in the Bespoke refrigerator designs. The Bespoke refrigerator lineup redefines traditional refrigerator design by offering three key innovations: a customizable and interchangeable front panel design, modularity for personalized storage configurations, and a sleek, modern aesthetic that integrates into diverse kitchen styles. This approach transforms appliances from purely functional items into integral elements of home decor.
The customization extends beyond mere color to encompass a variety of materials and finishes. Customers can select from a wide palette of soothing neutrals, classic black and white, soft pastels, or bold, saturated tones. The material options include the Cotta metal finish, which provides a warm, earthy, clay-like texture, and the glossy Glam Glass finish, designed to reflect light and brighten a kitchen space. The global rollout has expanded these color choices, with eight options available in the U.S. and up to 14 in Europe, depending on the specific model. Whether choosing a 4-Door refrigerator, a Bottom Mount Freezer, or a combination of 1-Door and Bottom Mount Freezer modules, the Bespoke line allows consumers to create a refrigerator that aligns with both their storage needs and aesthetic preferences. Samsung plans to continuously update Bespoke's palette to reflect current trends and evolving consumer tastes. The interchangeable design ensures that users can refresh their appliance's look by swapping out panels, adapting it to future lifestyle changes or design updates without needing to replace the entire unit.
The modular design of the Bespoke refrigerators offers significant flexibility, allowing the appliance to adapt to changing life circumstances. For instance, an individual living alone might start with a 2-Door unit and later add a 1-Door or another 2-Door module to create a double-door model when moving in with others. As family needs grow, additional storage can be integrated by adding a Bottom Mount Freezer or another 1-Door module. This modularity eliminates the need to discard and replace appliances when lifestyle changes occur. Furthermore, the doors on each module are reversible and designed for easy opening, providing greater placement flexibility next to furniture or walls without concerns about space constraints.
Samsung has also engaged in inspiring collaborations to further enhance the Bespoke lineup's design offerings. Three exclusive collaborative designs were unveiled at the 'Bespoke Home' event, available in select markets. French illustrator Thibaud Hérem created a design for the European market, depicting Fontainebleau across three 1-Door modules. For the U.S. market, pop artist Andy Rementer designed a 4-Door Flex model, reflecting his signature playful and colorful style. Additionally, a collaboration with the Danish lifestyle brand HAY introduced five new colors to the Bespoke range, inspired by natural food ingredients found in European kitchens. These collaborations demonstrate Samsung's commitment to pushing the boundaries of refrigerator design, catering to diverse consumer lifestyles and design preferences, and transforming appliances into customizable pieces of home decor.
