Every Single Pantone Colour Of The Year From 2000 – 2026

Each year, the Pantone Colour Institute unveils its highly anticipated Colour of the Year, a tradition that has significantly influenced design trends across various industries for over two decades. The selection process is meticulous, involving a global search for new colour influences, spanning everything from entertainment and fashion to travel, socio-economic conditions, emerging technologies, and even major sporting events. This extensive research ensures that the chosen colour reflects the prevailing mood and cultural currents of the time. Contrary to popular belief, the selection is not a one-off meeting but a continuous dialogue among a group of colour experts who are constantly attuned to the evolving landscape of global aesthetics. For 2026, Pantone has introduced Cloud Dancer, an ethereal, almost weightless white. This shade is celebrated for its billowy, balanced quality and serene feeling, signaling a return to simplification and offering a whisper of calm in an increasingly noisy world. Cloud Dancer is positioned as one of Pantone's more understated yet intriguing selections. Preceding this, 2025 saw the arrival of Mocha Mousse, a rich, warming brown that challenges traditional perceptions of the colour by elevating it to an aspirational and luxurious status, evoking comfort reminiscent of cacao and coffee. Peach Fuzz, the 2024 Colour of the Year, marked the 25th anniversary of this forecast. This soft peach hue, nestled between pink and orange, exuded a vintage charm while promoting kindness, tenderness, and community, encapsulating a message of caring and collaboration. In 2023, Viva Magenta, a nuanced crimson red with pink undertones, made its debut. This nature-rooted, hybrid colour struck a balance between warm and cool, promoting powerful yet non-aggressive self-expression and encouraging experimentation, optimism, and joy. The year 2022 introduced Very Peri, a dynamic periwinkle blue with a violet-red undertone. This futuristic shade symbolized inventiveness and creativity, blending the constancy of blue with the excitement of red, and notably, it was the first time Pantone created an entirely new colour for its Colour of the Year program. The years 2021 and 2016 both featured joint Colours of the Year, demonstrating a recognition of complexity and duality in aesthetic preferences. In 2021, Illuminating, a bright and cheerful yellow, paired with Ultimate Grey, a quietly assuring and resilient shade, reflecting pebbles on a beach. This combination symbolized hope and steadiness. In 2016, Rose Quartz, a gentle and compassionate pink, was paired with Serenity, a weightless and airy blue, representing feelings of respite and relaxation. Other notable Colours of the Year include Classic Blue (2020), evocative of the infinite evening sky; Living Coral (2019), a life-affirming hue with a golden undertone; Ultra Violet (2018), a provocative purple inspiring visionary thinking; Greenery (2017), a refreshing shade symbolizing new beginnings; Marsala (2015), an earthy wine red enriching mind, body, and soul; Radiant Orchid (2014), an enchanting blend of fuchsia, purple, and pink symbolizing joy and love; Emerald (2013), a magnificent hue of beauty and prosperity; Tangerine Tango (2012), a vivacious orange radiating heat and energy; Honeysuckle (2011), an uplifting pink evoking summertime nostalgia; Turquoise (2010), combining serene blue with invigorating green for a sense of wellbeing; and Mimosa (2009), a warm yellow representing hope and reassurance during economic uncertainty. Each selection by the Pantone Colour Institute not only gains global attention but also significantly influences product development across fashion, home furnishings, and industrial design, establishing a universal language of colour for designers and enthusiasts worldwide. #PantoneColorOfTheYear #ColorTrends #InteriorDesign #HomeDecor #ColorPsychology #DesignInfluence #CloudDancer #MochaMousse #PeachFuzz #PantoneColorOfTheYear #ColorTrends #InteriorDesign #HomeDecor #ColorPsychology #DesignInfluence #CloudDancer #MochaMousse #PeachFuzz
