Magic Editor API Documentation#
Base URL:
https://api.ideal.house
Version: v1
Updated: 2026-03-06
π Overview#
The Magic Editor API allows you to intelligently edit and transform images using AI. By providing a source image and an optional text prompt, the AI will apply smart modifications to the image based on the selected model mode. The workflow is asynchronous and involves two steps:
- Create a task β Submit your image and parameters, then receive a
taskId. - Poll for results β Use the
taskIdto query task status and retrieve the edited image.
π Authentication#
All API requests must be authenticated using an API Key.
Include your API Key in the request header:
| Header | Value |
|---|---|
APIKEY | your_api_key_here |
β οΈ Keep your API Key secure. Do not expose it in client-side code or public repositories.
π° Credits Deduction#
Model (modelType) | Credits Deducted |
|---|---|
Flash | 1 credit |
Base | 3 credits |
Pro | 10 credits |
π API Endpoints#
1. Create Magic Editor Task#
Creates a new AI magic editor task and returns a unique taskId for polling.
Endpoint
POST /api/v1/magicEditor/generate
Request Headers
| Header | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
APIKEY | β Yes | Your API authentication key |
Content-Type | β Yes | application/json |
Request Body
| Field | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
imageUrl | string | β Yes | URL of the source image to edit |
prompt | string | β οΈ Conditional | Text prompt describing the desired edits. Required when modelType is Base; optional for Flash and Pro modes |
modelType | string | β Optional | Model type. Enum: Flash, Base, Pro. Defaults to Flash |
πΌοΈ Image requirements: Use JPG/JPEG, PNG, or WebP. Each image must be no larger than 20 MB, with dimensions from 128 Γ 128 px up to 6,000 Γ 6,000 px (inclusive). Images exceeding the maximum pixel dimensions are automatically scaled down proportionally to fit within 6,000 Γ 6,000 px before processing. The image URL must be directly accessible by the API server.
Model Types
| Value | Description | Prompt Required |
|---|---|---|
Flash | Default. Fast editing with automatic AI-driven smart generation | β Optional |
Base | Text-guided editing β uses your prompt to precisely control the output | β Required |
Pro | Higher quality editing with more detailed results | β Optional |
β οΈ Important: When
modelTypeisBase, thepromptfield must be provided. Requests withmodelType=Baseand nopromptwill return a parameter error.
