A New French-Inspired Outdoor Furniture Collection Debuts in Los Angeles Plus May Launches
This month's ELLE DECORANDUM, a shopping memo from the editors of ELLE DECOR, unveils several new design launches, focusing on a French-inspired outdoor furniture collection, unique home decor, distinctive hardware, and elevated grocery shopping experiences, culminating with an artful tableware collection. The article highlights the debut of 'Vestige,' a new outdoor furniture collection from California-based Olive Ateliers. Inspired by French antiques and gardens, the collection features 14 pieces ranging from furniture to decor, characterized by soft silhouettes, sculptural lines, and an old-world romantic aesthetic. Co-founder Laura Sotelo notes the inspiration drawn from aged materials and the harmony of French gardens, offering a sophisticated option for alfresco living, with prices ranging from $65 to $2,995.
Next, William White, founded by Will Cooper, introduces a home decor line alongside a fashion presentation titled 'Off The Clock – On The Clock.' This immersive installation, reminiscent of David Hicks' 1970s decorating style, utilizes over 500 yards of blue shirting fabric to cloak an entire space, including ceiling drapery, upholstered furniture, and bespoke lamps. Collaborating with artist Aleksandar Duravcevic and curator Ysabel Pinyol Blasi, the project blurs the lines between fashion, art, and home, creating a dreamy, made-to-measure world where minimalist design speaks volumes. Prices for these unique pieces are available upon request.
The article also features a new hardware collection from Nest Studio, in collaboration with ELLE DECOR A-List interior designer Jessica Davis of Atelier Davis and Laura Jenkins. The 'Profile Series' is Nest Studio’s first designer collaboration and Jenkins’ inaugural hardware collection. Comprising ten pieces, the collection draws inspiration from Bauhaus aesthetics, offering knobs, pulls, and mounts that function as both sculptural art and practical elements, described as a blend of Giacometti and Cocteau with an asymmetric twist. The Disc pull is particularly highlighted for its clean, punchy, and dramatic appeal, with prices starting from $50.
Big Night, a provisions shop in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, owned by former Infatuation editor Katherine Lewin, is expanding its footprint and offerings. The shop, known for transforming grocery shopping into a stylish ritual, features carefully curated items like jewel-toned tinned fish, olive oils resembling perfume bottles, and graphically packaged dry goods. The expanded space includes a kitchen-inspired central island with vivid ceramics and eccentric candlesticks, and a bar area above the checkout counter designed by East Otis Studio, turning a mundane task into a celebratory experience.
Finally, East Fork, the Asheville-based B Corp known for handcrafted pottery, introduces the 'Matisse Collection,' a permanent line honoring Henri Matisse. This collection is a deeply personal project by East Fork founder Alex Matisse, the great-grandson of the iconic artist. With the blessing of Les Héritiers Matisse, the collection translates Henri Matisse's visual language into surface decoration and new colorways across plates, mugs, and other items, blending artistic heritage with modern craftsmanship to elevate everyday tableware. Prices for the Matisse Collection start at $68.
