Wonder Live Corridor Public Art / Sata Na Architect

The "Wonder Live Corridor: Pathway to Breath for Urban Balance" is a public art installation designed by Sata Na Architect, located in Khlong Toei, Thailand. This project, completed in 2025 and covering an area of 250 square meters, addresses Bangkok's severe air pollution crisis, particularly the dangerously high levels of PM2.5 particulate matter. The installation was featured as part of the WOW Festival at Benjakitti Park, with the primary goal of creating a breathable pathway to foster a harmonious relationship between humans, nature, and the urban environment. The design emphasizes a sensory experience that encourages visitors to reflect on air quality and environmental balance. The project integrates architectural and artistic elements to raise awareness about environmental issues. The structure provides a unique spatial experience, allowing visitors to engage with the concept of clean air. The installation's design uses specific materials and lighting to create an immersive atmosphere that highlights the contrast between polluted urban air and a purified, controlled environment. The selection of Benjakitti Park as the location is strategic, as it is a significant green space within Bangkok, making it an ideal setting for an installation that promotes environmental consciousness and offers a temporary respite from urban pollution. The curator for this public art piece is Dsign Something, and the construction was handled by D-63 company limited. The architectural firm Sata Na Architect, with Chalermchai Asayot as the lead architect, is known for its innovative approaches to design. Their work on the Wonder Live Corridor exemplifies their commitment to addressing contemporary urban challenges through creative solutions. The installation's temporary nature aligns with its purpose as an exhibition piece, designed to provoke thought and inspire action regarding environmental health. The use of lighting is a crucial aspect of the installation, contributing to the visual appeal and the overall atmospheric effect, guiding visitors through the pathway and enhancing their perception of the space. The Wonder Live Corridor is categorized under Temporary Installations and Arts & Architecture, reflecting its dual function as both a structural design and a piece of public art. The photographs by Rungkit Charoenwat document the installation, capturing its visual characteristics and the interactions of visitors with the space. The installation serves as a micro-environment within the city, offering a tangible experience of improved air quality and prompting contemplation on larger environmental issues. The project's presence at the WOW Festival further amplifies its message, reaching a wider audience and fostering community engagement with critical urban environmental concerns. The initiative is a response to the urgent need for environmental solutions in highly urbanized areas like Bangkok. By creating a "Pathway to Breath," the installation metaphorically and literally offers a breath of fresh air, encouraging urban dwellers to consider their impact on the environment and the potential for design to contribute to healthier urban living. This public art intervention underscores the role of architecture and art in societal discourse and problem-solving, moving beyond traditional functionalism to encompass environmental advocacy and public well-being. #PublicArt #TemporaryInstallation #UrbanBalance #AirPollution #EnvironmentalAwareness #Architecture #Thailand #BenjakittiPark #PublicArt #TemporaryInstallation #UrbanBalance #AirPollution #EnvironmentalAwareness #Architecture #Thailand #BenjakittiPark
