This was achieved by eliminating door saddles and incorporating numerous curved surfaces, which Lewis noted also contribute to a sense of calm and safety by reducing sharp, 90-degree corners. These curves are prominent in design elements such as a kitchen ceiling soffit and a living room fireplace, replacing previously rectilinear shapes and fostering a tranquil atmosphere within the urban setting. Significant structural changes included converting a traditional closed-off kitchen into a modern, open-concept space. Architectural details, such as plaster cove moldings, were meticulously restored or recreated to honor the apartment's original character.
