lyndon by boss design gets modern revival with show-wood furniture collections

Lyndon, a furniture manufacturer established in 1982 by Brian Murray and Richard Pugh in Cheltenham, England, has undergone a significant relaunch under Boss Design. This revival introduces a refreshed portfolio of show-wood furniture, building upon Lyndon's 40-year heritage in British manufacturing. The updated collection, which includes Katō lounge seating, Mori tables, and the Kit dining collection, reflects a more contemporary design direction while maintaining the brand's commitment to craftsmanship and quality. As part of the Boss Design Group, Lyndon benefits from its parent company’s emphasis on sustainably sourced materials and its mission to transform various spaces, from workplaces and hospitality venues to retail and leisure environments. A key aspect of this relaunch is the brand's shift towards a made-to-order model, offering clients and designers extensive customization options. This approach allows for personalized furniture that aligns with specific aesthetic preferences and functional requirements, enabling choices in fabrics, finishes, and dimensions. Lyndon's expertise spans a wide range of interior design schemes, including luxurious hospitality settings, upscale residential properties, and eclectic cinemas, demonstrating its capacity to create durable and elegant forms suitable for diverse spaces. The relaunch also encompasses a complete brand identity overhaul, a new website, and a design toolkit, reinforcing the brand's dedication to innovation and excellence. The Katō lounge seating exemplifies Lyndon's woodworking expertise, featuring an exo-frame that supports an upholstered seat and back. This design highlights the natural grain of the timber exoskeleton, alongside rounded structural features and exposed joinery, creating an organic and artful display of wood. This lounge seating is designed to be a statement piece in various settings, such as informal meeting areas, waiting rooms, and hospitality venues. Ceri Lovett, Creative Director at Boss Design, emphasized that the relaunch aligns Lyndon’s furniture-making heritage with modern technology, a commitment to sustainability, natural materials, and the appealing forms of the furniture itself. The Kit dining collection, designed by Mark Gabbertas for Lyndon, focuses on ergonomic comfort combined with minimalist aesthetics. The Kitt stacking café chair, for instance, features precisely crafted laminations that offer optimal support for both relaxation and forward-leaning postures, making it particularly suitable for restaurant environments. The chair’s design achieves a balance between generous proportions and a minimal yet robust frame, showcasing Lyndon’s dedication to both functionality and refined design. Through these new collections, Lyndon aims to elevate spaces with elegance and sophistication, celebrating traditional British furniture-making skills while embracing contemporary design principles. #LyndonFurniture #BossDesign #FurnitureDesign #ShowWood #BritishManufacturing #CustomizableFurniture #InteriorDesign #SustainableMaterials #KatōLoungeSeating #LyndonFurniture #BossDesign #FurnitureDesign #ShowWood #BritishManufacturing #CustomizableFurniture #InteriorDesign #SustainableMaterials #KatōLoungeSeating
