Island House Newport, a new hotel developed by Marshall Properties and operated by Main Street Hospitality, is set to open on March 13. Located near Newport’s renowned Cliff Walk, the hotel aims to offer a distinctive accommodation experience, built and operated by locals to ensure an authentic and deeply rooted perspective on hospitality. This new establishment combines modern elegance with the rich maritime heritage characteristic of Newport, Rhode Island. John Marshall, owner of Marshall Properties, highlighted that the hotel was designed with an intimate understanding of the city's unique charm, aiming to elevate the standard of lodging in the area.
The hotel offers a total of 24 rooms, which include 14 luxurious suites and a two-bedroom penthouse suite. Additionally, there are four rooms furnished with king beds and six rooms featuring double queen beds, catering to a variety of guest needs. The interior design of the rooms emphasizes bright, airy spaces with a coastal-inspired aesthetic, complemented by thoughtful amenities. Guests will find Matouk linens, Bellino fine bed linens and towels, Smeg coffee pots, and locally sourced toiletries, enhancing the comfort and local feel of their stay. Twelve of the suites are equipped with fully functional kitchens, providing convenience and flexibility for longer stays or for guests who prefer to prepare their own meals. The customizable room configurations are designed to accommodate families, groups, and business travelers, ensuring a versatile and comfortable environment.
Beyond the private accommodations, Island House Newport features communal spaces designed for social gatherings. These include a covered patio and an outdoor fire pit, offering opportunities for relaxation and interaction among guests. Sarah Eustis, CEO of Main Street Hospitality, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with Marshall Properties, noting that both companies are multi-generational businesses deeply committed to the communities they serve.
