Axiom Audio M0, M2, M3, M22, VP100 and VP150 On-Wall Speakers
Axiom Audio, a company with 30 years of experience in high-fidelity loudspeakers and home theater surround-sound systems, has introduced a new series of decor-friendly on-wall speakers. This new lineup includes the On-Wall M0, M2, M3, and M22, along with the On-Wall VP100 and VP150 center channels. These speakers are designed to save floor space and offer an unobtrusive appearance, making them suitable for modern living spaces, particularly alongside flat-panel plasma and LCD displays.
The M0, M2, M3, and M22 on-wall speakers utilize Axiom's innovative Power Bracket mounting system. This system simplifies installation by allowing users to slide the speakers into place, automatically connecting them to the speaker cables. This eliminates the need for complex wiring manipulations during setup. The Power Bracket is designed for ease of use, ensuring that the speakers are properly mounted and connected in a single, straightforward step. The M0 is currently available, with the M2, M3, and M22 scheduled for production in May.
For the center channel units, the On-Wall VP100 and VP150, Axiom provides a sturdy steel T-bracket. This bracket enables these speakers to be mounted flush against the wall surface, further contributing to their seamless integration with home decor. The ability to position these speakers ideally on either side of a flat-screen TV enhances the stereo soundstage, creating a more cohesive audio-visual experience.
The new on-wall speaker series offers a range of models that correspond to Axiom's popular bookshelf speakers, maintaining the same model numbers. The pricing for the on-wall models is identical to their standard bookshelf counterparts. For example, the On-Wall M2 is priced at $296 US per pair ($305 CAD), which includes shipping. Customers also have the option to choose special real-wood veneers and paintable finishes at an additional cost.
Ian Colquhoun, Axiom's president and founder, highlighted the benefits of the new on-wall series, emphasizing convenience and aesthetic appeal for rooms where in-wall installations are not feasible or desired. A key aspect of the design is the acoustic adjustment made to account for the boundary effect of the wall behind the speaker. This contrasts with bookshelf speakers, where such adjustments are typically not possible due to varying installation environments. This design consideration ensures that the on-wall speakers maintain Axiom's characteristic neutral, uncolored sound quality, with transparent highs and a natural midrange.
The introduction of these on-wall speakers addresses the growing demand for audio solutions that complement contemporary home aesthetics without compromising sound performance. By offering a blend of easy installation, aesthetic integration, and acoustically optimized design, Axiom aims to provide versatile options for consumers seeking high-quality audio in a visually appealing format.
