SKKN By Kim Is Becoming a Lifestyle Brand, as Kim Kardashian Launches a Bathroom Collection
Kim Kardashian has expanded her SKKN By Kim brand into home accessories, starting with a collection of five bathroom products. This new venture follows the relaunch of her skincare line earlier in the year. The initial home accessory range, revealed in an interview with *Architectural Digest*, includes a vanity tray, a round container, a canister, a tissue box, and a waste basket. These items are designed in Kardashian’s signature 'greige' concrete aesthetic, mirroring the minimalistic design of her own home and the packaging of her skincare products. Kardashian's home is known for its unadorned, tranquil design, a style she attributes to working with Axel Vervoodt and primarily featuring stone materials.
Kardashian articulated that the inspiration for these home accessories stemmed directly from her personal design preferences and the desire for her skincare packaging to integrate seamlessly into her living space. She expressed her fondness for concrete and gray tones, describing them as 'zen.' The goal for the new home accessories was to complement the existing skincare line and to elevate any home with a modern, minimalistic elegance. She emphasized that the monochromatic design and concrete materials contribute to her mental wellness, offering a sense of quiet and calm amidst the external chaos of her life.
Each piece in the SKKN By Kim home accessories collection is crafted from hand-poured concrete, resulting in unique textures and stone effects. Kardashian noted that every item develops an ornate patina over time, ensuring no two pieces are identical. This approach to design reflects her initial vision for the skincare packaging, where she had mockups made from real stone before mimicking the look for the final products, some of which she still keeps in her office.
Set to launch on October 6 via the SKKN By Kim website, the collection is intended to be both practical and stylish. Kardashian highlighted the functionality of items like the Round Container and Canister, suggesting their utility for storing cotton pads, Q-tips, or other small trinkets, thereby helping to maintain a clutter-free environment. This move into homewares is not entirely new for Kardashian, as she first filed a patent for a range of homewares in September 2020. This trademark included various household items such as towels, shower curtains, textiles for home furnishings, comforters, aromatherapy diffusers, bath products, body sponges, bathroom candles, and containers for organizing cosmetics, indicating a long-term vision for her lifestyle brand.
