Here are kitchen cabinet trends for 2021

Kitchen cabinet trends evolve slower than bathroom trends, yet new products, colors, finishes, and features consistently introduce microtrends. While classic white kitchens remain timeless, enduring for decades, the door styles have seen shifts. Recommended white paint colors for cabinets include Pure White or Greek Villa by Sherwin Williams, and Cloud Cover or White Dove by Benjamin Moore, which offer a slightly off-white, timeless appeal without appearing stark. To personalize a white kitchen, homeowners can introduce an accent color to elements like a range hood, open shelving, or an island. The popularity of grays is waning, giving way to warmer, nature-inspired tones such as warm grays, browns, natural wood finishes, greens, and earthy reds. Blues continue to be a popular choice. When mixing and matching cabinet colors, it's advisable to limit the palette to two colors in most kitchens to prevent a cluttered appearance. In larger spaces, a maximum of three colors might work, but exceeding this can lead to sensory overload. It is crucial to consider all other finishes in the kitchen, including countertops, backsplash, and flooring, to determine the main focal point and avoid an overly busy design. Beyond color, door style and cabinet overlay are significant considerations. Raised panel doors, once dominant, have been largely superseded by shaker styles over the past several years. Shaker cabinets, including pure, straight-lined, beaded, or beveled variations, offer a clean aesthetic compatible with various decors. Slab doors are also gaining traction for their sleek, modern look, providing increased versatility for decorative hardware. These flat panel options are suitable for both painted and stained finishes, not just high-gloss contemporary ones. Other flat panel designs, which are subtle variations of the shaker style, provide an opportunity for more individuality. Cabinet overlay impacts the overall look. Traditional overlay, which exposed the cabinet face frames and often included center rails in larger double-door cabinets, is now less common due to restricted access. Full overlay, where doors cover the cabinet frames to create a seamless appearance and eliminate center dividers, is the most prevalent choice today, offering full access to cabinet interiors. Inset cabinetry, while aesthetically pleasing with doors sitting flush within the frames, is less common due to the precision required for proper alignment. Shiloh cabinetry is highlighted as a reputable option for semi-custom inset cabinets. Functionality is as vital as aesthetics in kitchen design. Modern kitchens offer numerous accessories, roll-out shelving, and organizational solutions to enhance usability and organization. Homeowners are encouraged to explore these options during a kitchen redesign or update to ensure the space is both visually appealing and highly functional, tailored to their specific needs. #KitchenCabinetTrends #HomeDesign #KitchenRemodel #CabinetColors #ShakerCabinets #SlabDoors #CabinetOverlay #KitchenFunctionality #InteriorDesign #KitchenCabinetTrends #HomeDesign #KitchenRemodel #CabinetColors #ShakerCabinets #SlabDoors #CabinetOverlay #KitchenFunctionality #InteriorDesign
