The Enclosure, Maynooth, Co. Kildare — A Sophisticated Spot for Contemporary Dining at Arkle Bar

Maynooth, located in Kildare, Ireland, now features a new bar and restaurant called Arkle Bar, named after the famous thoroughbred racehorse. Within Arkle Bar is The Enclosure restaurant, offering a refined dining experience with a polished and sophisticated décor. Executive Chef Bernard McGuane, known for his extensive experience in Michelin-starred establishments in London and Dublin, and a decade as group executive head chef for Dylan McGrath’s Prime Steak Group, is at the helm, crafting elegant and modern menus suitable for various occasions. His culinary philosophy prioritizes deliciousness, emphasizing bold flavors derived from simple, high-quality ingredients, with his mantra being 'Make sure it’s delicious!' The interior design, conceived by Michele Broderick, draws inspiration from the 1920s, creating a luxurious and inviting atmosphere. The design elements include sparkling crystal chandeliers, a vaulted plastered ceiling over the cocktail bar, a combination of dark and light oak timber finishes, plush velvet fabrics, brass decorative lighting, antique mirrors, and distinctive wallpapers. The space also features photographs and artwork dedicated to Arkle, the celebrated horse, affectionately known as ‘Himself’. Arkle Bar is strategically segmented into distinct areas, each providing a unique ambiance. These sections include a cozy snug characterized by a salvaged red brick wall, an upscale and intimate raised dining area known as The Enclosure, complete with booth seating, and a comfortable main lobby bar and restaurant. Additionally, outdoor dining options are available. The varied settings cater to different social gatherings, such as romantic date nights enjoying cocktails in the lobby bar followed by dinner in The Enclosure, casual meet-ups with friends over pints in the snug, or family birthday celebrations in the main restaurant area. The establishment serves a comprehensive bar menu in Arkle Bar and a dedicated restaurant menu in The Enclosure daily from 5-9 pm. The beverage offerings include a curated list of classic and innovative cocktails crafted by in-house mixologists. Both Arkle Bar and The Enclosure are committed to utilizing the finest locally-sourced produce, premium quality free-range meats, and fresh seafood from the island of Ireland. The overall design and culinary approach aim to create a charming and spirited venue, appealing to a wide range of patrons seeking a sophisticated dining and social experience in Maynooth. #RestaurantReview #DiningExperience #Maynooth #Kildare #InteriorDesign #BernardMcGuane #ArkleBar #TheEnclosure #IrishCuisine #RestaurantReview #DiningExperience #Maynooth #Kildare #InteriorDesign #BernardMcGuane #ArkleBar #TheEnclosure #IrishCuisine
