Delta Glade Static Caravan Reviewed
The Delta Glade static caravan is a 40-foot long, 12-foot wide single-unit model, notable for being Delta's sole center lounge design. The exterior features woodgrain effect PVC-U cladding and a plastisol coated steel pantile pitch roof. The design includes a single entry door and expansive windows at one end, which allows for significant natural light penetration. The unit is designed with two bedrooms, positioned at opposite ends of the caravan, providing a sense of privacy and separation. This layout is particularly advantageous for families, offering a distinct sleeping area for children away from the main bedroom.
Each bedroom is accompanied by a shower room. A new feature for this model year is the inclusion of a quadrant shower cubicle, a style often found in lodges, which optimizes space within the shower room. The central area of the caravan houses the kitchen and lounge, forming an open-plan living space between the two sleeping quarters. The lounge is characterized by an abundance of glass, including a large window above the sofa, enhancing the brightness of the interior. The choice of light-colored wall coverings and a vaulted ceiling further contributes to the airy and luminous atmosphere. Despite its open-plan nature, the lounge maintains a cozy feel, complemented by a corner wood-effect unit and a beige-tan-plum color scheme that evokes warmth and comfort.
The kitchen area is generously sized, offering ample storage with numerous cupboards featuring modern stainless steel bar handles. It is equipped with designated space for a microwave and a large integrated fridge-freezer. Freestanding furniture, such as chairs with faux suede upholstery, matches the aesthetic of the sitting area. The master bedroom spans the full width of the holiday home at one end, featuring large floor-to-ceiling windows that create an expansive feel. The twin bedroom, while smaller, provides adequate space between beds, making it suitable for occupants of various ages. An additional fold-out bed in the lounge offers extra sleeping capacity for occasional guests. The bedrooms are adorned with light, flowery fabrics, and the master bedroom includes a coordinating bedhead.
This static caravan is primarily suited for a family of up to four individuals, or two to three friends, or a couple who frequently host visitors, all of whom prioritize spaciousness and privacy over a cramped caravan experience. The design aims to offer an apartment-like living environment rather than a traditional caravan feel. Priced at approximately £37,400 ex-works retail, the Glade is positioned at the higher end of Delta's product range. Additional costs for a microwave, transportation, siting, and annual maintenance will be incurred, varying based on the park operator and geographical location.
