Second home in the Alps serves as a luxury spa with spectacular views and hi-tech facilities
This article details a luxury home spa complex concept located in the Alps, designed by Teo Su Seam, a partner at LTW. The project, valued at HK$600 million, is envisioned as a serene retreat from urban life, accessible via helicopter. The central theme of the design is water, symbolizing the source of life and influencing various architectural and interior elements. The entire three-story complex is conceptualized to evoke the sensation of an iridescent water droplet, with its internal spaces reflecting this aquatic inspiration.
The spa complex is divided into three distinct levels, each serving a specific function to enhance the relaxation experience. The lower floor is dedicated to comprehensive spa facilities, offering a range of treatments and amenities designed for rejuvenation. Above this, the middle floor houses a relaxation lounge, providing a comfortable and tranquil space for guests to unwind between treatments or simply enjoy the serene environment. The top floor is a highlight, featuring an infinity pool that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding alpine landscape. This level also incorporates a glass dome, further immersing guests in the natural beauty of the Alps while maintaining a luxurious and sheltered atmosphere.
The interior design emphasizes curved lines and fluid shapes in furnishings to complement the water theme. Notable pieces include Vladimir Kagan's sofa and accent armchair, Moka & Roka dining chairs by Promemoria, and sculptural dining and coffee tables by Armand Jonckers. These selections are intended to create an environment that feels both sophisticated and organically integrated with the water-inspired concept.
Teo Su Seam, an industry veteran with extensive experience in luxury hotel projects for renowned brands such as Mandarin Oriental, Shangri-La, and Four Seasons, led the design. Her background in creating high-end hospitality spaces is evident in the meticulous attention to detail and the luxurious offerings of the alpine spa. The concept is presented as an ultimate escape, providing a private sanctuary where every aspect is tailored to promote relaxation and well-being, leveraging the natural healing properties associated with water and the tranquil mountain setting.
