Houston Design Force Expands Her Talents to Tabletops — Nina Magon Keeps It Artistic
Houston-based designer Nina Magon is broadening her design portfolio beyond residential, commercial, and hospitality projects to include furniture, lighting, and now, tableware collections. Her namesake studio, Nina Magon Studio, has unveiled two distinct lines of tableware, each reflecting her modernist aesthetic. Additionally, the studio has announced a significant partnership with Studio M Lighting, a new division of Maxim Lighting Group, for a forthcoming lighting collection.
The first tableware collection, named Alina, features bold graphic lines and pearlized spheres. These elements are designed to evoke a sense of modern, refined luxury. Each piece in the Alina collection is subtly embellished with a golden "NM" logo, representing the Nina Magon Studio. The design process for this collection involved artisan decorators to ensure precise placement of these decorative elements, resulting in a sophisticated and opulent dinnerware offering.
The second tableware collection, Aryan, draws its inspiration from the equestrian world, specifically from the tack and various accouterments associated with horses. This inspiration translates into design details resembling the harnesses and buckles found in high-end luxury brands such as Hermès and Gucci. Each item in the Aryan line incorporates a distinctive trio of buckles, reminiscent of those used by arena polo teams. Both the Alina and Aryan porcelain tableware collections were designed in Portugal.
These new tableware collections are available through Nina Magon Studio and at Zadok Jewelers. The Nina Magon Lounge within Zadok Jewelers' new location in Post Oak Place serves as a showroom for Nina Magon Studio's diverse lifestyle collections, which include bespoke furniture, wall coverings, tables, rugs, and lighting, in addition to the newly introduced tableware.
Further expanding her reach, Nina Magon Studio's partnership with Studio M Lighting will see the debut of the Nina Magon x Studio M Lighting Collection at the High Point fall Market, scheduled for October 15-18. Magon had previously showcased her lighting design capabilities through a chandelier-sculpture piece for her bedroom at the Kips Bay Showhouse Palm Beach, which offered an early glimpse into the style of the new collection. Nathan Sterling, director of production management at Maxim Lighting Group, expressed confidence in Magon as the ideal partner for their first designer collaboration, citing her understanding of high-end interior design needs across residential, commercial, and hospitality sectors and her modern, forward-thinking approach that yields strikingly refreshing and unique lighting creations.
