Rs 12 lakh house on mere 3.5 cents in Palakkad that's simply amazing | Lifestyle Decor | English Manorama

This blog post showcases Krishnakumar’s new house located in Kulapully, Palakkad, Kerala, which exemplifies a comfortable dwelling prioritized for family needs over luxury. The house is situated on a compact 3.5 cents plot along Kanayam Road, and despite its small footprint of 500 sq ft, it is designed to accommodate the full range of facilities required for a three-member family. Architect BP Saleem, based in Cheruthuruthy, Thrissur, was responsible for the design of this elegant yet small residence. Construction details highlight the use of two coats of putty on both interior and exterior walls, followed by a final coat of paint, indicating a focus on durability and finish within a constrained budget. LED lights are strategically integrated to accentuate specific areas, adding to the aesthetic appeal. The layout includes a sit-out, a combined living and dining area, a kitchen, two bedrooms, and a common toilet. Entry to the house is through a small sit-out. The living area is distinguished by an elegant couch with a jute finish and includes a TV unit. Adjacent to this space, a cantilever-style dining table is incorporated, designed for versatility, capable of functioning as a study table or an ironing table. The flooring throughout the house is laid with vitrified tiles. The master bedroom, positioned opposite the living area, features excellent cross-ventilation and built-in wardrobes for efficient storage. The kitchen adopts a classic black and white color scheme, with granite countertops. Helium doors are utilized on ferro cement slabs in both the kitchen and bedrooms. Furnishings such as the living room couch and bedroom cots are custom-made to align with the overall design theme. The comprehensive budget for the house also covered essential items like bed sheets, pillows, and curtains. Remarkably, the entire project, encompassing the structural build, furnishing, boundary wall, gate, and even a well, was completed within a budget of just Rs 12 lakh. This achievement was accomplished without compromising on the quality of the building or its furnishing materials. The designer further notes that a house of similar style, excluding the boundary wall and gate, could potentially be constructed for as little as Rs 7 lakh. The project was completed in 2019. #Homes #House #ModernArchitecture #InteriorDesigner #AffordableHousing #SmallPlotDesign #SustainableDesign #CostEffectiveConstruction #Homes #House #ModernArchitecture #InteriorDesigner #AffordableHousing #SmallPlotDesign #SustainableDesign #CostEffectiveConstruction
