Designer Ryan Korban’s Debut Furniture Line Is Like a Collection of His Greatest Hits

Ryan Korban, a prominent interior designer known for his work on retail spaces for high-fashion brands like Balenciaga and Alexander Wang, and residential projects for A-list clients, has unveiled his inaugural furniture collection. This new line, developed in collaboration with high-end furniture manufacturer EJ Victor, represents a compilation of Korban's design evolution and signature aesthetic. Rather than aiming for radical innovation, Korban sought to refine and reintroduce silhouettes he has consistently favored throughout his career, adapting pieces previously created for fashion houses into items suitable for domestic environments. The collection is characterized by its sophisticated integration of fashion-inspired elements into home furnishings. Korban's intention was to make his distinctive designs, previously exclusive to bespoke projects, accessible to a broader audience. The advertising campaign for the furniture line was strategically shot within an unfinished unit of 40 Bleecker, a luxury condominium building that also serves as Korban's first full-scale residential architectural endeavor, developed alongside architect Ed Rawling and Broad Street Development. This choice highlights the seamless transition of his aesthetic from commercial to residential spaces and underscores his holistic approach to design. Key figures from the fashion and entertainment industries, including Zoë Kravitz, Binx Walton, and Alexander Wang, participated in the campaign. Korban credits these individuals as sources of inspiration over the past decade, underscoring the deep connection between his design philosophy and the world of fashion. Zoë Kravitz, for instance, is featured lounging on Korban’s Holland chair, a piece indicative of the collection's refined yet comfortable style. The debut collection comprises approximately 40 furniture pieces and 20 lighting selections, alongside case goods and various bedding options. Many items bear names derived from fashion luminaries, such as Halson, Alberto, and Giorgio, reinforcing the collection's fashion-forward identity. Korban specifically highlights the Giorgio coffee table, a design he originally created for Balenciaga, praising its universal appeal and enduring quality. The Holland chair is another favorite of the designer, signifying the personal significance of these pieces to his body of work. Beyond its initial launch, the furniture line has already found a place in prestigious projects, including the Ritz-Carlton Residences, North Hills, and is slated for display in significant areas within the 40 Bleecker development. This integration into high-profile residential and hospitality settings demonstrates the versatility and broad appeal of Korban's designs. Having spent over a decade crafting custom, one-off pieces, Korban expressed a desire to consolidate these elements into a cohesive collection, effectively presenting a "greatest hits" compilation of his most cherished designs. This move allows his distinctive aesthetic to reach a wider demographic, extending his influence beyond exclusive clientele. #RyanKorban #FurnitureDesign #InteriorDesign #EJVictor #FashionInspired #LuxuryInteriors #ResidentialDesign #Balenciaga #AlexanderWang #RyanKorban #FurnitureDesign #InteriorDesign #EJVictor #FashionInspired #LuxuryInteriors #ResidentialDesign #Balenciaga #AlexanderWang
