A variety of carpet tiles by Modulyss feature on Dezeen Showroom
Belgian flooring brand Modulyss has listed a selection of its carpet tile collections on Dezeen Showroom, highlighting the brand's commitment to design inspired by natural transitions and sustainability through recycled materials. These collections, suitable for various commercial interiors including education, workplace, and public spaces, offer both aesthetic appeal and environmental responsibility. Modulyss, a sub-brand of Belysse, was founded in 2010 and specializes in high-end carpet tiles for commercial use, distributing its products internationally.
One featured collection is Artcore, designed by Joris Peutz in collaboration with Modulyss. Artcore draws inspiration from the subtle, gradual changes observed in natural landscapes—such as the transition from a forest to a field, or an urban area blending into the countryside. This collection comprises four distinct patterns: Core, Mezzo, Litho, and Etch. Each pattern is characterized by complex geometric designs that reflect different topographical elements. The Core pattern is particularly versatile as it incorporates elements of all four patterns, making it ideal for creating seamless transitions between other tile types within an installation. Artcore tiles are manufactured using 100 percent Econyl recycled yarn and are available in a range of natural, earthy shades, emphasizing both sustainability and a connection to nature.
Another collection showcased is Millennium Nxtgen, which also prioritizes recycled materials. These carpet tiles are produced from regenerated nylon yarn, further underscoring Modulyss's eco-conscious manufacturing practices. The Millennium Nxtgen collection offers a broad palette of 36 colors, providing designers with extensive options for customization and creativity. Like all Modulyss products, these tiles are designed for durability and aesthetic integration in diverse commercial environments, maintaining their suitability for heavy-traffic areas and various interior design schemes.
Completing the featured selections are the Heritage carpet tiles, a collaboration with Modulyss's product director, Ruben De Reu. This collection is deeply inspired by Flemish landscapes, translating specific regional characteristics into textile patterns. The patterns within the Heritage collection include Dune, which evokes coastal regions, and Meadow, reflecting rural areas. Additionally, Polder and Cobbles patterns draw inspiration from agricultural lands and traditional cobblestone streets, respectively. These tiles are available in a mix of both bold and subtle patterns, allowing for varied design expressions that can create distinct zones or harmonious flows within an interior space. The Heritage collection aims to bring the rich visual and textural qualities of the Flemish environment indoors, offering a unique blend of cultural heritage and modern design in flooring solutions.
Dezeen Showroom serves as a platform for brands like Modulyss to present their new products and highlight their design philosophies to a global audience interested in architecture and design. The inclusion of Modulyss's various carpet tile collections on this platform underscores their innovative approach to flooring, combining environmental sustainability with sophisticated design inspired by natural and cultural landscapes. The brand's focus on recycled materials and diverse, nature-inspired patterns provides architects and interior designers with versatile and responsible options for commercial interiors.
