alberto meda designs modular radiator with pleated surfaces for tubes radiatori

Alberto Meda's latest creation for Tubes Radiatori, named 'Step-by-Step,' is a modular radiator system featuring a surface composed of pleated elliptical elements. This innovative design, unveiled at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2020, allows for dynamic visual effects that shift with the observer's perspective and light conditions, creating varied emotional responses. The radiator is an integral part of Tubes Radiatori's 'Element' collection, which seeks to reimagine radiators and heated towel rails through collaborations with renowned international designers. Meda's approach emphasizes modularity, enabling the basic unit to function independently or combine with others to form four distinct configurations. When considering the various available heights, the system offers up to twenty different combinations, providing significant flexibility for integration into diverse interior spaces. Meda articulates his design philosophy by stating a preference for 'essential objects with a hidden complexity,' noting that 'Step-by-Step' appears as a singular surface yet incorporates modules with elliptical ribs. These ribs are crucial for ensuring high energy efficiency while maintaining a minimal physical footprint, addressing both aesthetic and practical considerations for modern living environments. The aesthetic characteristics of the 'Step-by-Step' radiator include a clean, slimline, and linear profile, designed to rest elegantly against a wall. This design choice contributes to an overall impression of impeccable, clean-cut shapes, which are highly sought after in contemporary home decoration. The radiator's natural suitability for bathrooms is further enhanced by a range of available accessories, offered in various colors, as well as glossy or satin chrome finishes. These accessories, such as the towel rail and hooks, are designed to seamlessly integrate with the radiator's minimalist aesthetic while providing practical solutions for hanging bath towels, bathrobes, and hand towels. This blend of form and function ensures that everyday utility is not compromised by the sophisticated design. Key specifications for the 'Step-by-Step' radiator include its construction from extruded aluminum and a choice of colors such as wrinkled white, wrinkled grey aluminum, wrinkled charcoal, and metallic grey, with additional matt colors from the Tubes range available upon request. The dimensions vary: single modules are 32 cm wide with heights available in 200 cm, 180 cm, 160 cm, 140 cm, and 120 cm. Double modules are 56 cm wide, with the same height options. The power source options are hydraulic, electric, and mixed, offering versatility for different installation requirements. Accessories include towel rails in glossy chrome grey or satin chrome grey, designed to complement the radiator's finish. This comprehensive approach to design, functionality, and customization underscores Meda's commitment to delivering a product that is both visually appealing and highly practical for diverse domestic settings. #AlbertoMeda #TubesRadiatori #ModularRadiator #PleatedSurfaces #StockholmFurnitureFair2020 #HomeHeating #InteriorDesign #ProductDesign #BathroomAccessories #AlbertoMeda #TubesRadiatori #ModularRadiator #PleatedSurfaces #StockholmFurnitureFair2020 #HomeHeating #InteriorDesign #ProductDesign #BathroomAccessories
