Features like built-in bidets and heated seats are becoming common upgrades, transforming basic toilets into more sophisticated fixtures. Subway tile, which has been widely used in various applications, is another trend that has run its course. Chelsea Marks of Paynes Gray indicates that people are growing tired of the classic white subway tile and its variations. The current preference is for more decorative and interesting tile options, including unique shapes, colors, patterns, and textures, allowing for greater personalization in bathroom design. The neutral aesthetic, particularly bleak neutral bathrooms, is becoming dated. Marks highlights a move towards incorporating more color throughout the home, including bathrooms. White walls and neutral tiles are being replaced by bold wallpapers and patterned tile work. Powder rooms, in particular, are seen as opportunities for bold design statements. Finally, manmade materials like quartz, popular between 2019 and 2023, are being replaced by natural materials.
