Meet Ashvinder (Ash) Rana | Artist (Ashthetic Art)

Ashvinder (Ash) Rana, the artist behind Ashthetic Art, transitioned from a 20-year career in Information Technology to pursue her artistic passion, initially as a hobby in 2016 following a Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis. This pivotal moment led her to Zentangle® inspired artworks (ZIA), which she found therapeutic and instrumental in rebuilding her confidence and fostering a love for abstraction. As a self-taught artist, she explored various abstract techniques including Fluid Art, Neurographic Art, and Mark Making, all of which brought her a sense of peace and positivity. This deep connection to her art motivated her to establish "Ashthetic Art" in May 2021, aiming to share her creations with a wider audience. Ashvinder emphasizes the unique nature of each artwork, highlighting that while some pieces can be recreated, no two will ever be identical. Her primary medium is acrylic paints, often combined with other mixed media. She details the meticulous process behind her mini tile artworks, which can take 2-3 weeks from start to finish, with canvas paintings varying based on size and drying times. Her creations are characterized by vibrant colors and reflect her inner visualization and imagination. Ashthetic Art offers a diverse range of products, including Spiritual and Abstract Artworks on canvases or unglazed tiles, hand-painted ceramic coasters, and Zentangle® Inspired Artworks mounted on matboard. The Spiritual Artworks have become bestsellers and a signature collection for Ashthetic Art, each piece meticulously packaged and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. The journey to professional artistry was not without its challenges, particularly given her lack of formal art training. Ashvinder dedicated significant time to research and experimentation, mastering the correct application of various media, paints, varnishes, and understanding temperature considerations. A notable challenge was ensuring the durability of her coaster line, which involved months of testing different topcoats to achieve heat and water resistance. Launching the online store in May 2021 presented a new set of hurdles, as her background in the corporate world did not prepare her for the intricacies of e-commerce. She navigated the process of selecting a trade name, registering it, and obtaining necessary licenses with the invaluable guidance of friends, expressing profound gratitude for their support. The successful launch of Ashthetic Art was a significant achievement, filling her with a sense of accomplishment. Ashvinder encourages aspiring artists to follow their passion and believe in themselves, asserting that anyone who creates art is an artist. She positions Ashthetic Art's mini artworks as ideal home décor items, individual or corporate gifts, and wedding or party favors, emphasizing their uniqueness and the special feeling they impart to recipients. Each piece is lovingly handcrafted using high-grade materials and infused with positive energy, whether it is a spiritual or abstract artwork. She invites potential customers to explore her gallery on her website and social media platforms. Ashvinder expresses immense gratitude to the Almighty and her husband, Babbi Rana, who coined the name "Ashthetic Art" and provided crucial support. The logo and symbol for Ashthetic Art were designed by Ashita Sawhney, incorporating colors and patterns from one of Ashvinder's signature artworks. She also acknowledges the unwavering love and encouragement from her family and friends, which have been vital to Ashthetic Art's two-year success. She concludes by expressing thanks for the opportunity to connect with readers through the feature, embodying her mantra: "From my hands and heart to your homes.” For those visiting the area, Ashvinder and her husband recommend exploring local spots in Sugar Hill, GA, and surrounding neighborhoods. These include Sugar Hill Downtown, featuring the Sugar Hill Distillery, The Eagle Theatre, Central City Tavern, Sugar Hill Arts Gallery, and The Rooftop. Further recommendations include Suwanee Town Center in Suwanee, GA, The Avalon and The Halcyon in Alpharetta, GA, and the charming town of Helen, GA. #AshvinderRana #AshtheticArt #AbstractArt #ZentangleInspiredArt #SpiritualArt #SelfTaughtArtist #HomeDecor #AcrylicPainting #Entrepreneurship #AshvinderRana #AshtheticArt #AbstractArt #ZentangleInspiredArt #SpiritualArt #SelfTaughtArtist #HomeDecor #AcrylicPainting #Entrepreneurship
